genevra, who knew I was going to a birding thing, and kafilipi, who actually saw the Nuthatch bite me! By far the most common guess from you lot was Hellbob! LOL!
Yesterday morning I went out to Ritter Farm Park down in Lakeville because they were having a birding event. The raptor center was out there, there were stations to build your own birdhouse, and the really cool thing I went down for was Mark and Roger (aka Minnesota Birdnerd) had set up a banding station. The nets were already down when I got there but there were plenty of birds still waiting to be banded. I had met Mark & Roger several times before at Birdchick's Birds 'n Beers gatherings, and Scott Taylor who I had also met at Birds 'n Beers was there taking pictures. I also sawkafilipi out there. Here's another of the photos Scott took of me releasing the Nuthatch. He caught the bird right in mid wing flap, looking pretty darn cool!

May. 18th, 2008 09:07 pmMy normal method of "gardening" is what I call the Darwin Garden. I take the small patch of garden area near the house and sprinkle a bunch of flower seeds and wait to see what blooms through survival of the fittest. You don't get the best results that way, but it's a heck of a lot less work than real gardening.
This is our 8th spring in this house, however, and the grass and weeds were getting pretty well established in the garden plot so I hacked and hoed and shoveled and cleared out the top layer. Then I spread 4 cubic feet of Miracle Gro enhanced black garden soil out. Of course, for the planting, I still just sprinkled a bunch of flower seeds. But I figure that without the grass, clover, violets, and other assorted riffraff the flowers will have a better fighting chance this year. If so, you'll see photos when they bloom!
In other news, it is time for another round of What Bit Thehellziggy Today?

I'm a real college student today, yo
Mar. 14th, 2007 02:31 pmI took today off work because I didn't want to jump right back into a 12+ hour day. So I finished my morning class at 10:40. My afternoon class isn't until 5:30.
A sensible HellZiggy would have gone home to take a nap with a 6 hour gap there.
But I didn't. I'm at school.
I'm being productive though... I have a midterm in tonight's class so I've been studying for that with frequent LJ breaks to amuse my mind. I also wandered on down the street to Eli's for lunch. It was good but not as good as it should have been. I'm still bummed that they got rid of the Turkey Waldorf sandwich. It was one of my all-time favorite sandwiches EVAH!
It's just about time to dash back to StudyLand, but first, a poll!!

Also, Dakegra, how did I know you'd be the first to accuse me of being a crazy stalker? You just *wish* I would come stalk you!
And, if it feels like I forgot anything important on the poll, or parts are a little incoherent/poorly written, well, I fell asleep halfway through writing it... Must learn to go to bed earlier.
And the overwhelming "I want to meet you in real life!" answers? Maybe I should host an event called HellHouseCon! :)

I'm gonna do it as a post rather than a poll, cuz I like seeing the answers in comments better than having to go look at poll results.
So dear minions, who would you switch sides for?
elaby & caitirin, you'll notice that I said switch sides and not who of the same sex, so you can not pick each other! You two have to pick boys!
Oh, and my answer? Two of them: Angelina Jolie or Alyson Hannigan.

Dec. 28th, 2005 01:34 pmI don't know if y'all remember me mentioning the random dude who answered my 'give me your address' poll for the Xmas letters, but after he did that I went and randomly filled out someone else's Xmas letter poll. Today I got a lovely homemade card from neeroc. :) She put a return address on it and I haven't sent my cards yet so I'll have to be sure to send her a return one.

This isn't the tough part because that has been done before... Now I need to get peoples names & addresses into the computer to print labels. (Believe me people, hand writing them is not an option. It isn't pretty. Me handwriting not so good) and then get the letters & cards into envelopes, theoretically with at least a short handwritten note, but hand signed at the very least...
If you had replied that you wanted my smut mix CD, then I will likely be lazy and mail it as a two for one. If you just wanted the smut CD and not the Christmas letter you are shit outta luck, cuz you are getting both!
