Pondering the Picture Project...
Jun. 21st, 2006 02:11 pmWell, I've achieved the goal of shooting at least one picture a day for the last 100 days.
Wow.
I honestly didn't expect to make it to 100 without having to restart at least once. When I tried to shoot daily last November I actually missed either two or three days. There were some days in the last 100 where i literally only took the one picture. There were also many days where I got more and couldn't decide on just one.
Whether or not I continue on with this is gonna be decided by if I take a picture today or not... I haven't been really inspired lately until going to the park yesterday, but if i do another 100 that will take me through most of the summer which would include things like a Mason Jennings concert, CONvergence, a weekend at my parent's cabin, a weekend at Rick's step-mom's cabin and my Trip To LA To Touch James Marsters Again.
I'm thinking I'll continue on with the goal of just seeing how far I get rather than a set number...

Jun. 21st, 2006 12:25 amDay 100!!!
I actually made it! Yay me!
I stopped at the park on the way home and took a bunch of pictures. I wasn't sure which I liked best so when I showed them to
a mushroom!

My second place runner up was this one, an evil Asian Lady Beetle:

And to finish with my new addiction, a bird picture. This is a Downy Woodpecker:

So, do I start at 100 again?
Or do I keep going and keep numbering with 101, 102, etc to see how far I get?
Or do I just take a break for a bit?

May. 14th, 2006 10:28 amToday's pics are not going to convince her differently!

No, that's not been cropped in from the original! We were driving home and there was a bald eagle chowing down on some road kill right on the shoulder of the road. So I made

This pic is cropped, but only on the sides to turn it from a horzontal to a vertical.

Birds eventually get tired of posing for me!

May. 14th, 2006 01:05 amBut, for those of you who want to see all the pics I've done for it, I've got them all tagged so you can click here to browse by my tag. I've cross posted some of them here in my journal, but not all of them.
And if you're tired of looking at my crap, there are a bunch of other talented folks over there posting stuff too.

Apr. 28th, 2006 11:58 pmI found a really great little park. It's right by a highway, but it still feels secluded and it's got lots of cool birds. In the short time I was there I saw a Green Heron, a Great Egret, a couple hawks (that I couldn't identify), a pair of Woodducks, and some Mallards.
I'd never seen one of these before... It's a Green Heron Butorides virescens

And egrets are always cool,
Great Egret, Ardea alba
