The not-so-secret origins of a HellZiggy...
I was born in Kingston, NY but moved to Minnesota shortly thereafter. Then I grew up. I had the silly idea that Fargo, ND would be a good place to go to college.
Eight years later I acheived escape velocity & came back to Minneapolis with a husband, Rick, our 2 fuzzy, feline children, a huge alcohol tolerance, but no college degree. Rick & I are both geeks and we actually met in a comic book shop. We've got quite a collection of comic books, "real" books, DVDs, CDs and other geeky stuff. We eventually acquired a house to hold all that stuff. Being a computer geek, Rick built me my own computer so I would quit interfering with his gaming time.
My nickname, Ziggy, came from my maiden name. When we started going online, the handle Ziggy was ALWAYS already taken. Since Rick uses hellbob, it only makes sense that my married name be HellZiggy. Since starting on Live Journal & becoming known to more people as Hellbob and HellZiggy, our house has been dubbed the HellHouse & the cats (Gabriel & Lump) are now HellCats.
I eventually evolved from the PC to my shiny pretty new 15" Apple Powerbook. Her name is Chiana, and I have a 15 GB iPod named Aeryn Sun. I'm also in school part time right now for Graphic Design. I am also hopelessly addicted to collecting fonts & photoshop brushes.
I'm a fangirl & love watching Sci-fi. Joss Whedon is my God. I love all things Buffy, Angel and Firefly. Especially Spike! I love me those hot vampires! Other favorites are Farscape, Star Trek:TNG, Highlander, and Kevin Smith is also a deity in my world.

I've collected postcards since I was a kid, so if you live somewhere cool or are visiting somewhere cool & feel the urge to send me one drop me a comment and I'll send you my snail mail address.

My default user picture is my stuffed Moose. He is a first generation Beanie Baby who has seen better days. He was bought shortly before I moved from Fargo back to the Twin Cities & my best friend from Fargo has a matching moose. He started traveling with me when I wanted a good luck charm for a trip to Las Vegas & he's recently started traveling with other people too. He's been to California, Arizona, Texas, Puerto Rico, Las Vegas, Mexico & Italy. Unfortunately, I haven 't been to all those places because he fits in a suitcase & I don't! Most of my user pics I made myself. If it's from a photo I've noted who took it. I try to give credit where credit is due. It's hard to keep track of where all the brushes come from so while an icon may not have a specific credit for the brush I've used, right now I've used brushes made by: miggy, pixielore, colourofclouds, __lumos, evenstar, honerbright, candycrack, __spectral, cassie47, dilkerhtahai, jadedicons, icon_collide and eldritchlove. I find these wonderful brush makers at 100x100_brushes. To create my icons I exclusively use the Adobe Creative Suite.
