15 years ago today I got to marry the love of my life. I'm the luckiest girl ever!

♥ ♥ ♥ I love you Rick! ♥ ♥ ♥

Hmmmm. I opened a bottle of my daddy's homemade wine (Cranberry 2006) to have just a glass or two. It appears that the bottle is now empty. How odd... *grin*

I spent a very pleasant day today doing nothing but watching tv with my wonderful [livejournal.com profile] hellbob. We also talked a lot about his NYC trip as he remembered details that he'd forgotten to tell me last night. While near the Empire State Building (or was it Times Square?) he saw Carson Kressley from Queer Eye. Didn't chase him down for a picture with Stunt Double Moose though. Oh well.

I'm so glad we were able to make his New York City adventure happen even though money is a little tight at the moment. Seeing that last Police concert meant so much to him. And yes, I'm a teensy bit jealous that I didn't get to see NYC with him, but I also know that [livejournal.com profile] kaldeth appreciated the concert far more than I would have.

One thing about his trip that I haven't posted about yet is his seats for the concert.
Hellbob originally had seats in section 65, right next to the stage but to the side and a little behind. TicketBastard moved him (and everyone else in that section) to the much crappier seats in section 331 saying that the section they were in wasn't going to be used for the concert.

Then, about a week before the concert they put that section up for sale to the general public without offering it back to the people that had been moved! i found this out less than 12 hours before [livejournal.com profile] hellbob's flight to NYC. So I spent my morning at work on the phone to TicketBastard while I was working. There were no better tickets for them to give to him, and they weren't willing to consider a partial refund even though they totally screwed him by moving him and then reselling the seats he'd originally had. They insisted that it was the show's promoter who determined such things.

I was really tired because I'd given up a few hours sleep to drive the boys to the airport, so TicketBastard's response to this issue really pissed me off. I decided to try another avenue.

I went to the 13WNET/WLIW21 website (the NYC public tv stations that the concert was a benefit for) and the only phone number I could find was for people who wanted to donate $2000.00, $5000.00 or $10,000.00 to the station. So I called that number and gave a brief summary of what had happened and told them that Hellbob was flying from Minneapolis to New York just for this concert and TicketBastard wouldn't help and was there anything they could do?

I actually got a call back fairly quickly from the super awesome Jason who hadn't heard anything about the fan club seating issues, but he would see what he could do. Then, not too much later I got another call from him telling me to have Rick & Tom go to the TV station's table when they got to Madison Square Garden and ask for Mark Cxxxxxx, and they would have better seats for Rick!

O.M.G! By making a few (well ok, a half dozen or so...) phone calls from here at home I was able to get Rick & Tom better seats for the concert! I couldn't believe it actually worked! I'm still pissed at TicketBastard, of course. But 13WNET really came through for me, and for Rick & Tom!

The seats they got moved to were ones that sold for $75 more than the ones they originally had, and while they weren't any closer than the ones that TicketBastard had moved them to, it was a much better angle! Yay!

Hmmm. I should probably go to bed now. That last glass of wine is starting to hit... Mmmmm. Wine is good. :)

g'nite everyone!

Ooops. Almost forgot to put in the graphic of the MSG seating. :P

Well, my [livejournal.com profile] hellbob made it home safe and sound from his New York City Adventure!
I'm sure he'll post lots of details about it soon.

He brought a pile of postcards home for me, and an awesome pair of socks!
New York Taxi socks!

Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!

Moose couldn't go on the trip with Hellbob since he's on his way to Ecuador and then the Galapagos Islands with [livejournal.com profile] chebutykin. So I sent a Stunt Double Moose with him instead. :)

They saw Grand Central Station:

They saw some really tall buildings:

They saw the New York City Public Library:

Re: NYCPLlion

And they met some natives:

Re: ETMoose

And, of course, [livejournal.com profile] hellbob & [livejournal.com profile] kaldeth's evening ended with the Police concert which Stunt Double did not go to. I'll let Hellbob rave on about the concert. :) But I will say "Hooray!!!" for the fact that Hellbob brought me back a Chip Freakin' Kidd designed Toast In The Machine T-shirt!!!

Thank you everyone for the loverly birfday wishes on Saturday!

I had a lovely birthday.
On Friday night a bunch of us went to Hellboy II. While there we ran into [livejournal.com profile] jmanna & [livejournal.com profile] magicmarmot & the House of Toast folks. The movie was great! Lots of fun.
Then, Saturday, it was my actual birfday. It started with a trip to The Refinery with [livejournal.com profile] camel0t & LJless Nissa for some pampering. I had my first ever real massage and it was WONDERFUL! I think I may have a new monthly expense. :)
After we were all done with our spa stuff we had a nice lunch across the street. It was nice to hang out with just the girls.
Next up was heading home to [livejournal.com profile] hellbob and going to a movie. We saw Hancock. It was good, but there was a plot shift in the middle of it. Both halves of the movie were good, but they didn't feel like parts of the same movie.
After the movie we drove around Medicine Lake daydreaming about being able to buy a house there on the lake some day. (Any one got an extra $949,999 they want to give us?)
Saturday's weather was absolutely PERFECT.
After our lakeshore daydreams we headed over to the MonkeyHouse to watch [livejournal.com profile] technomonkey_m & [livejournal.com profile] gigglemonkey_b while [livejournal.com profile] genevra and [livejournal.com profile] akdar went out to see Hellboy II .
*newsflash*
I still have the cutest niece and nephew in the History of the World!
/*newsflash*
Watching the Monkeys mostly consisted of Hellbob & I sitting on the deck enjoying the beautiful weather while they ran around the back yard.
Then, when Genevra and Akdar got home we all went out to dinner for my birthday. I picked Chili's because I was craving Chicken Crispers.
All in all it was a very lovely day.

I also got some pretty cool gifts this year.
[livejournal.com profile] hellbob got me these super-cool Converse shoes:

He also got me 2 t-shirts; one w/grilled cheese on it, and one with the Lost Boys poster image on the front and "Sleep all day, Party all night" on the back.

And he got me this bunny:

And [livejournal.com profile] genevra got me these cool pillows with the "Candy" font from Veer on them:

On August 6th this year [livejournal.com profile] hellbob & I will be celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary.

On August 7th he will go on vacation without me.

Then on August 14 I will go without him.

It wasn't really planned that way, it is just how things turned out.

I really wanted to go out to Vegas during the NME to meet all my online podcasting peeps and to go to the JoCo/Richard Cheese/Chance Coverville 500 concert. It just happens to be Microsoft's Patch Week, so my darling [livejournal.com profile] hellbob decided he shouldn't go.

Then last night as he was reading anything new on the internets about The Police he saw that their absolute final last concert together ever was going to be August 7th at Madison Square Garden in New York. And he started to hatch a plan.

So yes, [livejournal.com profile] hellbob will be getting two tickets for that concert tomorrow when they go on sale. He's going to go with [livejournal.com profile] kaldeth. They will fly out the day of the concert and fly back the next day.

Damn expensive concert, but how could I say no to him? He's put up with my James Marsters obsession, after all.

It just seems weird that after rarely flying for vacations in all our time together now we are both going to fly opposite directions without each other!

Of course, he will only get to gaze lovingly upon Sting, Andy and Stewart from afar. I, on the other hand, will most likely get to hug the adorable Mr. Jonathan Coulton. *grin*

I also have to admit to a bit of a twinge of jealousy, as I've already been to Vegas 3 other times (and Hellbob's been twice) but I've never been to New York City! Hardly seems fair seeing as how I'm the one that was born in New York state!

He's back!

Awwwww. I have the best husband ever! He was at the store and I'd asked him to get me chocolate and diet Mountain Dew. When he got home and I was unpacking the stuff I didn't find any chocolate OR diet Mtn Dew. He'd forgotten them both.
So he bundled back up and is making a special trip to the store for them! I have the bestest Hellbob in the world!

While [livejournal.com profile] hellbob & I were test driving cars on Saturday he commented that one of them had a ton of trunk space (the Impala that we ended up buying)
I asked "How many bodies?"
He replied "At least 3 or 4"

Gotta love a man who not only measures trunk space by how many bodies would fit, but doesn't even think twice when someone else uses the same measuring system!

Another OmegaCon has come & gone...
Since I am actually working on homework and just taking a quick break, this will mostly be a highlights post.

Friday.
Worked. Bleah.
Got home. Packed.
[livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm showed up and stowed her car in our garage. We climbed into the HellCar and drove to Siren, Wisconsin. Yay!
[livejournal.com profile] moneygod sees [livejournal.com profile] hellbob and almost has a heart attack. Pokes him. "You're really here!" LOL. Yes, boys & girls, [livejournal.com profile] hellbob finally attended OmegaCon!
We saw [livejournal.com profile] chebutykin & [livejournal.com profile] cajones on their way out the door in search of dinner. I yelled, "Yo! Where's my Moose?!" I was informed that he was back in the room in her suitcase hiding in her underwear. Good enough.
We check in to Cabin #1, Grey Squirrel.
The cabin will be referred to, however, as the Godzilla Grouse cabin. Why? Because there is a photo of a grouse on the wall. But in low light (and that's all there is in this room!) unless you go look directly at it, the blurred wings pretty much vanish and it looks like a picture of GODZILLA!! [livejournal.com profile] 7thstranger discovered this last year as she was laying in the bed near it and looked up at the wall. I provide photographic evidence of this:

This amusing fact will come into play again on Sunday's part of this post.
Pajamaness was, as required, achieved within the first 15 minutes of hotel arrival.
Games were dropped off on the Table of Gaming Goodness, and we then headed down to ConSuite to educate [livejournal.com profile] hellbob on the awesomeness of Roadkill & Mrs. Roadkill. They rock!
My drink of choice all weekend was Yukon Jack and orange juice. But, since there were bartenders mixing them for me and the bottle was safely out of my paws, I did not get trashed at any point, just fuzzy-happy for a little while.
[livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm and I did hit the hot tub on Friday night. [livejournal.com profile] silmarian, [livejournal.com profile] drakenfly, [livejournal.com profile] obafugakum, [livejournal.com profile] jklumpp, [livejournal.com profile] weasel_king and [livejournal.com profile] laffingbuddha were already lurking there. It was quite disappointing though in the fact that the hot tub was actually a luke warm tub. Fooey.
After the not-hot tub, I found a group playing "Things in a Box" and watched for a bit. There were eventually enough of us watching that we grabbed a pile of the cards and started our own game. It is a fun game. I did learn that the Cali/Caly (sp?) do share one brain despite looking like they are two separate beings...
I'm sure there were other wanderings and such Friday, but I'm too relaxed to remember them.

Saturday.
Wandered out and about around 11 or noonish.
Roadkill was doing his fabulous grilled sammiches again. There was deep-fried stuff too. Shiny food is good food!
[livejournal.com profile] hellbob, [livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm and I left the hotel briefly to hunt down a cash machine, some Diet Mountain Dew for me, and to hit the PourHouse, which might be the only liquor store in Siren. I bought the new bottle of Yukon Jack for the bar since the one I bought last year was almost gone.
After getting back to the hotel I got my first Salad Bowl game of the weekend. It was me, [livejournal.com profile] theseamster, [livejournal.com profile] vorrant, [livejournal.com profile] cajones, [livejournal.com profile] chebutykin, [livejournal.com profile] eldogo, [livejournal.com profile] montechristobo, and [livejournal.com profile] windelina. Lots of fun. Best quote was indeed, "And if my knee was Scottish?" from [livejournal.com profile] montechristobo. [livejournal.com profile] eldogo really does know pretty much every obscure person in existance. Played some more games after that. Learned Hex Hex which was fun, but not what I was in the mood for. Played 10 days in the US with [livejournal.com profile] hellbob, [livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm and non-LJ Nate.
Dinner was very unspectacular. The prime rib was mediocre at best. Not just because it was cooled off and there were no utensils. That was expected. But the meat itself just wasn't that high a quality. I think next year I shall follow [livejournal.com profile] chebutykin & [livejournal.com profile] cajones example and just wander over to Adventures for something a little cheaper and cooked fresh.
There was another salad bowl game that evening. [livejournal.com profile] davedujour and [livejournal.com profile] scotia_girl shouldn't be on the same team since they are the only ones who know soccer players.
That game was the one with the phrase "He blew a nun!" It was George Carlin and I was getting my Kevin Smith films mixed up. I said "He's a comedian. In Dogma he blew a nun..." What I really meant was that in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back he would hitchhike & blow the men who picked him up, and in Dogma, he was the cardinal, of course. But when you're almost out of time in Salad Bowl things don't always come out right...
The rest of Saturday night involved more hanging out, and more chatting with folks.

Sunday.
We got checked out of our room by about 11:30 or so. That might just be our earliest con checkout ever. *grin*
We got french toast in the con suite. I played a short game of Apples to Apples. Unfortunately it was voted to be non-cutthroat. I never get to play a good cutthroat game it seems. I think you tend to get funnier answers when you don't give people to much time to think. But when I try to play that way with [livejournal.com profile] hellbob (cutthroat is when the last card thrown in isn't allowed) he doesn't even look at his cards to decide, he just throws one in, which then makes other people start doing the same thing so that they won't be last and then you just end up with random cards that aren't even related to the green on in any way.
After that we were about to leave when Peter rounded up folks for another game of Salad Bowl. Another good game. Moment that got the most "WTF?"s from the other players was when [livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm said "grouse" and I immediately got "Godzilla" After the game we registered for next year and headed across the street for dinner.
Dinner was with [livejournal.com profile] chebutykin, [livejournal.com profile] cajones, [livejournal.com profile] eldogo, and [livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm. The pasta was good.
Then we drove home. Weekend over.

Hmmpppffff

We are now only two weeks from OmegaCon!
Roll call! Who is going????

*exciting news*
[livejournal.com profile] hellbob is going to attend for the first time ever!! Yay! Hey, [livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm, if we want hotel sex, can we kick you out of the room for a while? *grin*

Hot tubs & games & shiny food! Yay!

I will be back in my usual room again, the Grey (or maybe Red...) Squirrel room, renamed last year by L13C, [livejournal.com profile] 7thstrange and me The Godzilla Grouse room!

If any of y'all see Birdchick/[livejournal.com profile] unclebastard before then and you are given a "I *heart* watching porn" sticker, do not be alarmed. It is for me to put on my laptop because the back piece where I already have one is being replaced. It's fun to see the looks people give me when they see it, and I'm pretty sure it helps keep Republicans away, kind of like garlic does for vampires.

*sad news*
Chiana is hiding in the back room at the Apple store and won't be coming home until tomorrow. But she will have a brand spanking new casing around the display! Yay! And I get to keep the old on. Any ideas what I should do with it?

It's [livejournal.com profile] hellbob, plastic wrapped for freshness!

We were helping paint a friend's house and [livejournal.com profile] hellbob had to hold plastic over the garage door while the paint was being sprayed around it.
