OK, so I don't have a write up about Phoenix ComiCon yet. But, I did get my pictures from the James Marsters Q & A up on Flickr.

But first, a link:
Thanks to A Geek And His Wife we've got some good quality video of ComiCon panels out there. I know a lot of people recorded stuff, but these aren't on You Tube. So, they aren't broken down into a bunch of short segments! I don't know about you, but I really hate having to watch 6 different videos just to see one full 1 hr panel! Now that I have found this site I'm going to have to go watch all the panels I didn't make it too!

For your viewing pleasure, the whole James Marsters Q & A:

And since not all of you out there want to see tons of pics of James, here's just one.

James Marsters Q & A

And for those of you who want to see a ton of pictures, here's a bunch more under the cut! )

As always, it was great fun watching James bounce around on stage for an hour. I can only imagine he would have been moving around more had the mike not been all wired under the table & shit.

I really wanted to punch annoying moderator guy, especially after it switched over to the questions from the audience. Really dude, at that point SHUT UP! You're there to keep things flowing if they slow down, not to fan boy all over James like it's a conversation between the two of you. And when James is doing a Q&A, things don't die down to where a moderator is needed to get it going.

The whole Flickr set can be seen HERE. I just wish I had more pics. My lens just wasn't quite fast enough, so some of my shots were a titch blurred.

I fly to Phoenix tomorrow! \0/

I'm going down for the Phoenix ComiCon.
It's full of awesome guests: http://www.phoenixcomicon.com/

Including my beloved James Marsters. And my Geek Crush Wil Wheaton. And my Geek Girl Crush Felicia Day.

I'll get to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] spellwight while I'm down there.

I've already got a VIP ticket for the James Marsters Concert on Saturday night. I've missed hearing him live. It's been 4 years!

Should be a great weekend!

Woo hoo!

I've got my ticket down to Arizona for the Phoenix ComiCon purchased! Yay!

I haven't picked up my return ticket yet, because I'm not sure when I'll be headed back, although I am leaning towards a really long Phoenix - Atlanta - Minneapolis over night flight on Sun-Mon because it's the cheapest ticket and I'll have all day Monday to sleep or recover anyway.

But the important thing is that I've got the ticket there!

I'll be arriving in Phoenix at 12:46 PM on Thursday, May 27th.

Ooh, depending on if I plan anything for Thurs, maybe I can go to the Zoo!

That's about the extent of my plans so far. It looks like James Marsters will be doing a Saturday night concert, so that is definitely on my to do list! And it sounds like Wil Wheaton is planning to do RockBand again. I just hope that doesn't conflict with James.

It would be nice to have the convenience of staying at the Hyatt, but that's probably more than I want to spend. I'd have to try to find roomates, which would mean posting on the message board.
The room costs are:
$119 for single / 1 = $119 per night
$119 for double / 1 = $59.50 per night
$144 for triple / 1 = $48 per night
$169 for quad / 1 = $42.25 per night
I don't remember any hotel I've ever stayed at charging $50 more for 2 extra people! That's only reasonable if you get a larger room when you have 4.

So I definitely wouldn't be staying there by myself! I've got 3 months to figure that out though. LOL. I still think the best plan would be for me to just stay in James' room...

Hey [livejournal.com profile] genevra, does your f-i-l have any connections at the Hyatt Regency downtown Phoenix? *grin*

OMG! Yay!

The movie marquee at Block E:

PSILove

I went to P.S. I Love You with [livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm a couple weeks ago. It was a sappy romantic love story with lots of pretty men and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's very nice naked ass.
It looks like the Block E theater is showing Psi Love You. It's a sci-fi love story! With mind-control! And Jeffrey Dean Morgan's very nice naked ass!

yay! I got my copy of James Marsters' new album in the mail today!

Hey [livejournal.com profile] hellbob, since [livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm is riding with us to OmegaCon guess what we'll be listening to on the way up... hee hee!
hellziggy: (Default)
I haven't heard who the winners were for most of the Parsec awards yet, but I did get the scoop on one of the categories: The totally awesome Leann Mabry not only won the Best Reality Podcast for the super-cool Tag in the Seam podcast, but she also received the Joe Murphy Memorial Award. Way to go, Leann!

And the James Marsters news is slowly filtering in too. He injured his knee while filming Torchwood. He has a new guitar and she's a very pretty blue. He was approached about possible doing more Smallville.

And, the tidbit that made me squeeeee a little bit: James said that he had enjoyed kissing John Barrowman more than he enjoyed kissing Sarah Michelle Gellar!

James snogged Captain Jack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
'scuse me while I wander off to my happy place now, k?

My "d" key still doesn't work as well as the others so at times I have to hit it really hard. I also have to really watch to make sure I spell things right, including my last name. Maybe I should just change the last name to Snyer.

I have no idea where the data I'm putting in Access goes or what they do with it at the GM temp job, but T. said I did really well yesterday and got a lot done. They also didn't come over to make sure I got all set up today, they just assumed I could do it on my own. (and I did!) From what I've seen of the average temp worker that does data entry, this is not something one should assume because most wouldn't be able to. Hopefully this bodes really well for them keeping me or for me getting future GM temp jobs.

Omegacon info: When [livejournal.com profile] hellbob & I were driving home from mom & dad's cabin a few weeks ago I noticed this wonderful bit of info on the Lodge at Crooked Lake's sign: "Free wireless internet." This is a change from last year and it makes me happy. :)

My podcast friends are at Dragon*Con. My James Marsters friends are at Dragon*Con. My ex-roomate and her man are at Dragon*Con. I am not at Dragon*Con. *pout* I want to be at Dragon*Con too!

I have no plans for today. I think I may paint in the backyard. :)

I'm done w/Guitar Hero for now.
Now I am watching James wander around in boxers & a tank top! Amazon delivered my copy of the Shadow Puppets today. I'm not expecting it to be a great movie, but you can't go wrong w/skimpily dressed James Marsters!

Look at the pretty!

It's from an article at BBC.co.uk about Torchwood.

Buffy star's joy at Torchwood job

James said he was 'really excited' about his character. )

James Marsters is gonna guest star on Torchwood!!!!

From the JamesMarstersLive.com site:

James will be playing a one-off concert in Cardiff on Saturday, July 21.

He will be appearing at The Point in Mount Stuart Square in Cardiff. Tickets cost £20 (subject to booking fee) and are now on sale from The Point. Full details of the concert are available here.

James is in town filming for the second series of UK sci-fi television favourite Torchwood.

He will be appearing as a guest star alongside leading actor John Barrowman in the BBC's adult spin-off of long-running television series Doctor Who.

Torchwood - an anagram of Doctor Who - is a secret task force that deals with alien encounters. John Barrowman plays mysterious multi-sexual time agent Captain Jack Harkness, who leads the Cardiff-based team. Series creator Russell T Davies, winner of the 2006 BAFTA Dennis Potter Award for Outstanding Writing for Television, has also written Casanova, Dr Who and Queer As Folk.

The episode will be broadcast in the UK by the BBC early next year.

*whimper*
The con reports and pictures from England are starting to appear on my flist. I'm soooooo jealous of y'all that flew across the pond to see James again. From the pictures I've seen he was looking quite adorable. Good hair, leather jackets, shirts with bare arms... *sigh*
I'm also hearing that he seemed to be more relaxed and happy than he's been in a long time, and considering how good he was looking and feeling at the QM, even more relaxed and happy is a wonderful thing!

"The Little Dog Laughed" Update:

The play "The Little Dog Laughed" that James was to have starred in this summer has been permanently cancelled.  The financial backers have decided to pull out at the last minute.  We are all extremely disappointed with this turn of events.  James is disappointed of course, but fine - he knows there will be many other opportunities on the horizon for him.  We appreciate all the excitement and support many of you have expressed at the prospect of seeing James on stage.

 Thank you

*sigh* I was really looking forward to this, whether I got there or not, because having seen James do live theater I could see how much he loved it!

hellziggy: (Default)
Yes Hellbob, I will be trying to plot a way for me to go to this! I've got that 7 week paid vacation in July/August...

James Returns to the Stage

James Marsters will return to his roots and first love in the San Francisco production of the hit play "The Little Dog Laughed" fresh from its Broadway run. James will appear in the production in a limited engagement starting June 13, 2007 and running through September 9, 2007 (he will continue to appear at his previously announced convention appearances as well).  The production will take place at the Post Street Theatre in the heart of San Francisco.  Ticket details to follow shortly.

"The Little Dog Laughed" by Douglas Carter Beane is a witty, biting look at what could happen if one of Hollywood's hottest leading men decided to come out of the closet!  James will play the leading male character of 'Mitchell'.

James is incredibly excited about the opportunity to return to the stage. Joining him will be Julie White who originally created the role of 'Diane' both off-Broadway and on Broadway.  The production will be directed by Scott Ellis.

No word from [profile] hellbob yet on getting voted off the island.

What I learned in class last night:
1. Getting notice that you are getting laid off gets you a one week get-out-of-jail card on not having your homework done.
2. There are temp agencies that specialize in the graphics field so if I don't find something permanent I can temp at Photoshop
3. My favoritest teacher at school, Will the Photoshop teacher, rocks! Not only can I use him as a reference when job hunting, but he gave me the contact name of a woman he does a lot of freelance temp assignments for. And assured me that I would have no problem with her agencies Photoshop test because he wrote it.

What I learned at Work today:
1. Ya know, the computer network works a hell of a lot better when the fiber optic cables aren't damaged! I feel like I'm typing at super speed today in our data entry program because it had been getting sloooowwwwerrr and slooowwweeerrrr before they finally figured it out.
2. I'm having a really tough time giving a damn.
3. One of the vacation days I wanted to go to a Photoshop seminar was not available but the girl who has it is being transferred to Shakopee so I should be able to get it. Before I knew about the layoff the seminar would have just been neat to go to. Now it is also resume fodder.

My favorite recent quote from www.birdchick.com/blog:
"I wish I could hunt like that, zipping through the air over 200 mph and killing larger birds with my toes."

Message on www.jamesmarsters.com
"Valentine Greetings

2-14-07 - Happy Valentines Day to all you lovers and loveless - give yourself love; that's always the best.

James"

*snorf* Yes James, and you will be in my thoughts as I "give myself love." Silly man.

And now lunch is done. Time to dive back into the wonderful world of the entering of datas. yay.

Have a wonderful day, my dear sweet minions!
