Time got away from me this year and I didn't get a calendar ready to go before Christmas, but better late than never!

I've got 3 different calendars this year.

You can get all of them here: http://www.lulu.com/sharonsnyder

The details:
They are $14.00 each.
Printed: 26 pages, 11" x 8.5", coil binding, white interior paper (100# weight), full-color interior ink.
12 months, January 2008-December 2008.

They have American holidays, but if you are in another country and want one with your holidays just let me know which one and I'll put up a duplicate version with your country's holidays.

The subjects of the three are Birds, Butterflies, and Zoo Portraits.

Here are preview pictures of all the images:

And if you want to see larger versions of any of the pictures you can find them HERE

Brian and his wife Tina were totally raving about my calendar on the last episode of Coverville!! And Brian also put a link to the lulu.com page in the show notes!

[livejournal.com profile] chebutykin posted last week about getting an email from Brian Ibbott.
I picked on her a little bit saying "Well doesn't everybody get email from him all the time?" 'cuz there have been many emails between me & him in the last year & a half. (You don't get the title "Official Coverville Historian" from just one email, after all)
Well, Cheb, today I got one from him that made *me* squee! He loved my calendar and just ordered one!
I know it's pretty nice and I'm darn proud of it, but when someone I've never met thinks enough to order it, it just makes me happy. :) Family just has to kind of like it to spend the money. Strangers have to really like it!
Yay! This made me happy. :)

Need a calendar for 2007? I've got the perfect one for you!

Here's a sample picture:

You can see all the pictures here

I'm selling them through Lulu.com, and you can find my storefront HERE.

I made two different versions.
The premium is 13.50" x 19.00", coil binding, 80# white interior paper, full-color interior ink
The standard is 11" x 8.5", coil binding, 100# white interior paper, full-color interior ink

Basically the differences are that the premium is printed on one large page with the binding at the top, and it is on a much heavier, almost card stock, paper. The standard is spiral bound in the middle so each month's calendar is on the back of the next month's picture. It is also a much thinner paper.

The premium sells for $25 and the standard is $15, plus shipping & handling.

The main reason I did the premium is because that is the style of calendar that I wanted for myself, but when I got my proof copies, I was really impressed with the premium one. It is definitely a lot nicer than the standard.

If you are not in the Twin Cities, pretty much the only way to get it will be to order direct from Lulu. My commission on each is less than the shipping so it would actually cost you more to order from me. But, if you are here in Minneapolis/St. Paul where I can hand deliver them to you, you do have another option. If I order at least 5 of the same version, there is a price break. At that point I can sell them at $25 & $15 without losing money on shipping.
Basically, I'm not making anything on the calendars this year, but I don't have to put any cash out for them either. Since this is the first time I've tried something like this, this year is just my chance to see how it goes.
So if you would like either of them, let me know and put the order in when I have enough people. Then, you can pay me when I deliver them to you. If you want to see the calendars "in person" first, just let me know and we can figure out a time/place to meet.
And, of course, tell all your friends!

My samples of the calendars came on Saturday. The large premium one looks GREAT! I just need to re-upload May's picture since I apparently uploaded two copies of June. Ooops. The smaller standard one I wasn't as happy with. It was cropped in more than I expected and since the proportions were different than the other one I didn't have everything as far in from the edges as I should have. So now I'm gonna redo all those pages. It's just a lot of tedious copy & paste & resize. Gotta get it done soon though because since that calendar is $10 cheaper it is the one most people are more likely to buy.
Plus, as soon as I get the pics reworked and uploaded i can start pimping this puppy out to all my friends & family. :)

Well, I've got two different sized versions of my calendar up on lulu.com now.
Much as I'd love to tell y'all to run out and buy them now, I've only just ordered copies for myself as proofs, so until I see the finished product in person I can't vouch for quality. But if you want to check them out anyway the link is here. In just over a week I should have actual physical copies of both. Of course they are likely to show up while I'm in LA...

I am starting to figure out which pictures to use for the First Annual Calendar of HellZiggy's Photography.

Calendars generally use horizontal pictures.

Most people shoot the majority of their pictures horizontally because that is the way the camera is.

I'm apparently a freak. I would say that I do about 50% of my pictures vertically.

Since I can't just pick only 12 pictures that I like anyway, I think I'm going to have to design each calendar page using 2 or 3 pictures... Then I can use some of my verticals since many of them are my favorites.

Anyhow, if you want to see what some of the pictures I'm considering (and put your two cents worth in on which ones you like) I've got a temporary gallery of them all grouped together here:  http://www.dreamflyte.com/gallery/temp

*edit* [profile] mcbarnes1970 gave me a good idea. Drop a comment right into the gallery for the ones you like. :) And of course, mention here that you did so I know to go look, and because I'm a comment attention whore. *grin*
