Since I live in Minnesota, and since this is the coldest day of the year so far, I'm pretty much required to make a post about the weather, aren't I?

It's -21ºF! Eek! (That's -29ºC for all you non-Americans.)

Luckily I have a hellbob who started my car when he left for work.

If I was working a full day today I think I'd actually have to put on a coat when running next door to Surdyk's. -10º is about my cutoff for wearing a coat just to run next door...

our car beeps at us when the temperature dips below 40ºF, and beeps again at 32ºF

People who've never lived with cold for months on end won't understand not putting on a coat when you go outside (even just to run next door). I *have* lived in it and barely remember how normal it seems.

It was really cold this morning, eh? floppycorpse's car wouldn't start this morning and then it just so happened that today our apartment parking lot was plowed, so it got towed. Double, double whammy.

OMG someone in customer service on the phone the other day said it was NEGATIVE FORTY-EIGHT in Nebraska. WTF? Did you know that was even possible on earth?
