Battlestar Galactica annoyance

While I love BSG, there is one thing that annoys me every time I watch it:
The paper.
Why are the corners cut off every piece of paper? There is no good reason for it. It would add extra steps to production.

Apparently, it started out as a joke. Then they took it a few steps further.

Some poor intern must go nuts having to do all the cutting. ;)

Well I was thinking of the actual paper production in the universe, but it would suck for the show interns too! :)
