Hey all you JoCo fans! Did you know that there's a whole Wiki devoted to all things Coulton? It's the JoCopedia!
While checking out the Shows page there I noticed that the May 1st show was his only Twin Cities appearance listed there.
I added pages for his two previous times here: Dec. 6, 2007 at the Varsity and Oct. 6, 2006 at the Fitzgerald Theater when he was here with John Hodgman.
I SUCK at remembering set lists, so if you were at the December show and can remember all the songs he sang, hop on over to the Wiki and edit the show page. (Or if you don't feel like editing just let me know and I'll do it.) Same goes for the 2006 Hodgman appearance, although I don't think any of y'all on my flist were at that...

No homework for you!
Apr. 14th, 2008 03:07 pmWell, I was going to work on my HTML scripting homework while eating a late lunch at Panera, but I can't. My teacher's server that our assignments are all up on comes back with a message of:
The SonicWALL Content Filter Has Blocked this site.
If you feel this site has been blocked in error,
Please submit a URL Rating Review at:

URL: http://xxxxxxxxx.html
Reason for restriction: Forbidden Category "Other"
Other? What kind of a restriction category is that?!?! Although Carl's site isn't hosted on the school servers everything we do for class has to maintain the same standards as if it was hosted on the state funded machine, so it's definitely not questionable material. Grrr.
Stoopid Panera/SonicWALL censorship! My homework isn't porn!!!!!! Guess I'm off to school sooner than I planned!

A Rose of Sharon by any other name...
May. 10th, 2007 12:46 amSchool is over for the semester! I'm pretty sure I pulled in A's in both classes. Mostly I'm just glad to be done! Even though other classes have had more homework and more computer projects, for some reason this semester seemed more tiring and harder than past ones. Maybe it's the job stress...
Now that school is done and I'm down to about a month and a half left at the job it's about time for me to find my resume, dust it off, and do a major update!
Seven years! It's been seven years since I last looked for a job. This just seems really surreal since before this my longest time at a job was three years.
Anywho, MySpace. I know that potential employers now days tend to do google searches and look at things like MySpace.
I don't actually use my MySpace for much of anything. I rarely even look at it. I don't like MySpace. Also, MySpace is one of the few places online that I am searchable by my real name but also have the HellZiggy name. When you search my RealFirstName RealLastName there are 28 of us on MySpace, but I am the only one in Minnesota and also there is a picture of me.
So, while there is nothing incriminating or embarassing on MySpace it could potentially lead people here. As y'all know, I'm not one of those LJ'ers who puts everything up under flock. I'm relatively open, and I do have some filters but rarely use them. I don't know that there is anything here that potential employers will have a problem with but I also don't want to lead anyone straight here.
Should I just delete my MySpace? Is there really any good reason to keep it? Will just the simple act of deleting it increase my IQ by 20 points? Feel free to put any arguements for or against deleting it in comments.
As far as going back and doing a blanket friends-only lockdown on my LJ, I don't see that ever happening. I have some friends who don't have accounts and read it. Also, I'm just not that paranoid about all the people out there on the internets. Without LJ I wouldn't have met lovely people like
boliviafang,
dibsy,
kniblet,
irish_dragon,
caoilainn and all the others I knew on LJ before meeting in real life for the first time.
I don't advertise the name "hellziggy" to everyone I meet but I don't hide it either. I'm not sure my mom or dad or brother know that it is my online name, but I wouldn't freak if they found out.
I originally wanted the name "ziggy" when I got on LJ but it was, of course, taken. Now, if it became available, I know I would not buy a rename token to change my name. I may have never been HellZiggy before signing onto LJ four and a half years ago, but now that identity *is* me. I've got a wonderfully unique situation with names online. If you google "hellziggy" it is ALL me. If you google my entire full legal name there are no hits. If you google just my first and last name there are a ton of hits but most aren't me because it's a relatively common last name with a less common first name. I like my different levels of googlability. I also like the fact that if any of y'all see a HellZiggy anywhere out there on the internets and tubes it is me.
Damn. This simple "should I delete my MySpace account" has turned into quite the introspective rambling, hasn't it?
Well, I think I really must be off to bed now. 'night all!

The tubes, they are gone!
Jan. 8th, 2007 05:44 pmWe didn't have internets for most of the day today! Ack! It doesn't affect my work, but it does affect my ability to check important stuff like ElJay on my lunch & breaks. Also, I couldn't listen to Penn's show live today.
Apparently our internet was disconnected for non-payment because of issues from a merger of our provider with another one. They gave some story about payments not getting applied and invoices not getting received. Yeah, right. If that was the case and we had been paying but weren't getting credited they would have flipped the switch to reconnect it MUCH sooner, not after over 7 hours.
