I completely forgot when I posted while tired last night. I can use my goat-fucking tag!!!!!!! Must go back and edit the post to add it.
Because in one of his bits, Henry Rollins talked about goat-fucking! He actually even used the phrases goat-fucking and goat-fucker! ♥
When I made the tag way back in the censorship kerfluffle I never expected to use it for any reason other than that it amused me. hee hee.

In other non-bestiality news, The Discovery Channel Hell Monkeys team did not suck the most!!! Yay! mn0pq3 was today and [livejournal.com profile] jmanna & I teamed up with two guys we didn't know. Their team name was The Discovery Channel and jmanna & I wanted to be Hell Monkeys so we combined the two. Out of 10 teams we took 7th place, and also I was smart enough to wrap my knee before starting so I probably won't hurt tomorrow. Or if I do, it shouldn't be as bad as after last weekend.

Here is a gratuitous picture of the awesome Mr. Rollins:

I only have the one because I didn't check the photo policy before going and so just used my point & shoot and it wouldn't do a decent shutter speed without using the flash so I just took this one at the very end.

I gave [livejournal.com profile] kalfoley a call last nite before heading out to the Terminal Bar and she was up for going to see a band she'd never heard of so we made our plans to meet up there. Then when we walked in I saw [livejournal.com profile] ninja_tech! She'd decided last minute to come meet up with me and check out Sunspot too! Yay! I went from going to the concert by myself to having 2 friends to hang out with. :)

[livejournal.com profile] kalfoley & I had completely missed the first band, Skittish. [livejournal.com profile] ninja_tech said they were good, and I'd liked what I'd heard of them online. Oh well, that wasn't who I was there to see.

As we made our way up to find a spot near the stage I saw SunspotWendy who gave me a hug. I introduced her to the "Sunspot virgins" I'd brought with me. We got settled into a table right near the stage and chatted until the next band started.

This was a band that I'd also never heard of, Mass Drastic. They were really good! We all liked them and really liked the lead singer's voice. Unfortunately they don't have a CD yet, so I couldn't buy one. :( Since they are local I plan on going to see them play again sometime soon.

Mass Drastic:

After some more time getting to chat with [livejournal.com profile] kalfoley & [livejournal.com profile] ninja_tech, it was time for Sunspot to take the stage!!!

They had it cranked to eleven! They started the set with Prozac Girl. Not even halfway through the song Ninja leaned over to me and said, "Yeah, I'm gonna like these guys." Yay! KalFoley also liked them right off the bat. Yay!

To the best of my recollection, these are the songs they played:
(but not necessarily in this order)
Prozac Girl
Summer Day
Neanderthal
More Than My Degree
Sweet Relief
My Own Worst Enemy
Scott Bakula

It seems like there should be more than that but I just can't think of them right now.

After Sunspot was done we decided we should hang out and check out the last band. While Ninja & KalFoley were out smoking, one of the band members had told them to expect a "vocal orgasm." Well... They started playing and while the music wasn't bad, the lead singer just wasn't that good. I don't know if it was because he wasn't entirely sober, or if he's always not that good. Also, they had a guy on stage in a penguin suit. Not singing or playing an instrument or anything. Just up there jumping around. Weird!
(Yes, I know, I didn't name the band. I wasn't there to see them, so there's no point in totally trashing a band I'd never even heard of.)

So we moved to the back of the bar where the music wasn't so loud so we could talk. *edit* OMG! Ninja reminded me in the comments of their oh so awesome song lyrics. "Fucking Deanna in her vagina." Yes people, it was totally as awesome as it sounds. It was at this point where I made a comment about the vocal orgasm that Ninja insisted that I remember to post online:
They promised a vocal orgasm. This is more like when you fake it to get them to finish and roll off of you.

When they finally were done, we were hanging out chatting w/SunspotMike. He'd set his iPhone on the stage and couldn't find it, so I gave him my cell to call it with as he walked around listening for the ring. He found it! Also, I promised to stalk him now that I have his phone number. :P Anyhow, when he came back with his phone I was telling how EXTREMELY JEALOUS I was that he'd gotten to see Patrick Stewart & David Tennant do Hamlet when he was in England. This led to us Doctor Who geeking and he showed of the pictures he had on his phone from the Doctor Who Exhibit in Cardiff. So cool! Moose has been there too. I want to go.

When SunspotBen dragged him off to help with hauling their equipment, KalFoley bought a Sunspot CD and we got ready to go. After we got everyone to sign it for her we headed out the back door. SunspotMike was out there and so we started talking some more. He's soooo "one of us!" Our geeky conversation ran the gamut from D&D to Star Trek to GenCon to CONvergence to Alan Moore to Neil Gaiman to Doctor Who/Torchwood to sci-fi porn (Flesh Gordon). (Although not necessarily in that order.) We were talking for a good half hour at least. SunspotWendy was also out there by the time we left so we said goodbye to her again, and then all headed to my car. Since I was parked the closest I dropped the other two girls off at their cars and headed on home. Got home a little after 3:00 and curled up next to a nice warm [livejournal.com profile] hellbob.
All in all, it was a really great nite!

Infected, by Scott Sigler is being released in hardcover tomorrow, April 1st. You should go buy it. I haven't read/listened to this book yet, but I have read some of his others and they were good. I'll be hitting Borders tomorrow to pick up my copy. I'll also be using THIS COUPON to get 40% off of it. You should too. Here is the propaganda from Scott's website about the book.

“Sigler is masterful at grabbing the reader by the throat and refusing to let go. Just when I thought I knew what abyss he was leading me across, he knocked the bridge out from under ... I think I screamed the whole way down ... INFECTED is a marvel of gonzo, in-your-face, up-to-the-minute terror.”
—Lincoln Child, New York Times bestselling author of Deep Storm and Death Match

INFECTED will be published April 1, 2008, in hardcover by Crown Publishing. The book has already been optioned for a movie by Rogue Pictures.

INFECTED SYNOPSES:
Perry Daswey is 6-foot-5, 265 pounds of angry ex-linebacker. He knows all too well that if he doesn't control his quick temper, people get hurt. Through constant focus, he has locked his violent past away in the deep dungeons of his mind.

The infection changes everything.

Strange microscopic parasites tap into Perry's bloodstream like tiny little vampires. They start as bright orange blisters, but soon take the shape of triangular growths just beneath his skin. The "Triangles," as Perry calls them, try to control their host by manipulating hormone levels and flooding his body with neurotransmitters -- imbalances of which cause paranoia, schizophrenia and excessive aggression. As Perry begins a desperate battle to cut the Triangles out of his body before it's too late, his self-control dissolves into raging, murderous madness.

INFECTED REVIEWS:
"Part Stephen King, part Chuck Palahniuk, Infected blends science fiction and horror into a pulpy masterpiece of action, terror, and suspense. Three recommendations: don't read it at night, or just after you've eaten a full meal, or if you're weak of heart. You've been warned!"
—James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author of The Judas Strain and Black Order

“Sigler is the Richard Matheson of the 21st Century…smart and creepy, INFECTED is a flawless thinking-person’s thriller. Bravo to a bold new talent!”
—Jonathan Maberry, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of Bad Moon Rising and Ghost Road Blues

"Horror mavens rejoice! INFECTED is a revelation -- a novel that lives up to its hype. From page one, the story of a mysterious smart-virus that turns its hosts into deadly drooling drones creeps up on a reader like the ratchet of a roller coaster climbing toward its inevitable crest. Sigler brings the folksy character detail of Stephen King, the conceptual panache of Clive Barker, and the oozing, shuddery pathologies of a David Cronenberg movie. Zombies, spies, conspiracies, and gallons of goo make this the fastest read in the west! Highest recommendation!"
— Jay Bonansinga, National Bestselling author of SHATTERED, TWISTED, FROZEN, and THE SINKING OF THE EASTLAND

"Sigler has a unique talent for keeping readers on the edge of their seats; I absolutely had to know what was going to happen next. Infected is full of mayhem, action, and gore--and you won’t be able to put it down."
— Dave Wellington, author of 13 BULLETS and the MONSTER ISLAND trilogy

"Scott Sigler's Infected is a bucking pulp pony that throws you this way and that, and just when you think you've got your balance, that ole pony bucks the other way. All in all, one hell of an exhilarating ride, and highly recommended."
—Joe R. Lansdale, World Horror Convention Grand Master and six-time Bram Stoker Award-winning author of Bubba Ho-Tep and Lost Echoes

I'm not sure if I should be amused or scared that so many of y'all on my flist want me to actually make the Hawt Goat-Fucking Action filter and/or be put on it...
Buncha sick puppies here, I tell ya!

And should I censor my Monkey sex icon? Is it pedophilia if the baby monkey is watching them?

OK. Six Apart apologized. They say they are going to reinstate journals that weren't really child-abusers.

Now the uproar & wank is "But...but...that apology isn't good enough! I want them to go back in time to fix things!"

Whatever.
It was good enough for me. They acknowledged that they did things the wrong way. They acknowledged that they fucked up. They are going to attempt to repair the damage.

I think censorshiop sucks.

I also think they were well within their rights as a private corporation to do what they did. That doesn't mean I have to like it.

Yes, I could leave. "OMG! I'm going to Greatest Journal because they aren't EVIL like LJ is!"

But I won't.

I like it here.

I have friends here.

I also have a permanent account.

I've been happy with LiveJournal over-all. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not even going to bother setting up a GreatestJournal 'just in case.'

What I will do is continue to do backups of my journal because everything I write is a pearl of wisdom, yo.

And in a week this will be mostly forgotten and life will go on until the next wank happens.

This didn't affect my journal personally, but it caused a lot of my friends undo worry. That pisses me off. But there are repercussions for LJ. SixApart will lose money over this. Some people will leave. Some people will go to unpaid level. I don't think it will have any major or lasting financial impact for SA, but I do think it will be enough for them to put some thought into it next time they want to do something like this again.

Our free speech is not protected here by law, but I hope this makes SA think again about censoring.

So, it happened. It was bad. They apologized. They will attempt to fix it. I will stay. But I won't be so trusting. But I also won't allow this to change the way I think or post in my journal.

The end. I'm done with this unless there is another major change.

Also, I currently have no plans to start that Hawt Goat-Fucking Action filter...for now

(and yes, that last line was just to give me an excuse to use my goat-fucking tag again, now that I have one!)

*sigh* The LJ kerfluffle I posted about yesterday is still being talked about today. Oh how I was hoping it would be "nothing" and would be gone.

All over my Friends List wonderful people I know are going Friends Only. This makes me so sad because if they had been that way before I never would have found them.
Yes, there are many people on my flist who write BadDirtyWrong fiction about men doing BadDirtyWrong things to other men.

But... there are *NO* child molesters on my flist!

Since I don't write fanfic my interests are pretty tame and not in need of editing. The most risque ones on there are 'vampire porn' and 'spike/xander' and I'm pretty sure the "warriors for innocence" fucktards aren't going to be doing interest searches on vampire porn. Well, unless they are into that kind of thing, of course! I will not be editing any of my interests except to add such things as anticensorship.

As for my journal, it will remain as it has always been, 95% open. I've never felt the need to censor myself or hide and protect myself behind a flock. That's not going to start now. The rare times I do use a filter it is generally not because I am ashamed of posting a link to a fic or putting up a pretty photo manip of Spike & Xander, it is because I have so many different groups of friends on LJ and I know there are ones out there who have no desire to see such things.

However, on the off chance that I decide to take up goat-fucking as a weekend hobby, I reserve the right to change my mind and start flocking everything, ok? But if that happens I'll be sure to give all y'all the option to opt in on my Hawt Goat-Fucking Action filter.
