I worked a full 8+ hours today. But it felt longer because over half of those hours were spent taking stuff apart, draining chemicals, and putting stuff back together. Urgh. Something had caused one of the tanks of chemicals on one of our photo printing machines to go funky. It REEKED! Smelled like rotten eggs/sulfer. And the filter wasn't pretty either. So yeah, long day...

Late yesterday afternoon I headed on down to take pictures of the eagle's nest by the 5-8 club. Unfortunately Mike, the guy I had met when out there on Friday, was there and said that he hadn't seen the baby eaglet at all on Sunday or yesterday, so he was figuring the worst. Poor little birdie. :( So no picture with the baby, but here's a pretty good shot of one of the parents.

[livejournal.com profile] hellbob & I have started making tentative plans to invade Chicago to visit us some Nibleys. It's been waaaay to long! We'll also be traveling for a wedding this month (in WI). And Brian from Coverville planted a seed of an idea in my head about going to the New Media Expo in Las Vegas this August. He's got some hella-cool plans for show #500. Of course, if we do go to the NME, I'll have to take Stunt Double Moose, since Real Moose will be off in the Galapagos Islands!!! I do so love to travel... Why can't I be independently wealthy??

This is an amazing photo. I don't think of Eagles living in MN, but they so do!

If you are planning a trip to Chicago, do post in advance, my sister and her husband and the new cutie niece live close to the city (my BIL commutes to the city every weekday) and maybe I could visit with you for an afternoon and spend some time with my family at the same time! No worries, I know working these things out are a nightmare, but we could maybe figrure it out. :)

Not only does MN have the largest breeding Bald Eagle population in the lower 48 (they like fish, we have lakes!) but this one built its nest right by two major highways just blocks from the Mpls Int'l Airport!

I'd love to coordinate a Chicago visit with you! It looks like this one might just be for one night though because we'll combine it with the wedding we're going to. :( Since driving to Chicago means driving through the city where the wedding is we'll most likely drive to Chicago on Friday, then Saturday head back to Madison, and then home on Sunday. But if we get a longer trip planned sometime we'd definitely have to get something worked out!

We will figure it out at some point!

I always love seeing your photos, you always find the most amazing things to photograph. It is always a pleasure to log in and see a Hellziggy post with pic, I should comment more often.

We don't have any definite plans yet, but we're going to a wedding in Madison on Saturday the 31st, and since Madison is so close to Chicago...
Rick said he mentioned it to [livejournal.com profile] dibsy today and he didn't think you guys had any conflicts that weekend. It would be a pretty short visit though. :(

Oh dear, that's the one weekend we're likely to be away between now and October. I need to go to Honolulu for work and [livejournal.com profile] dibsy makes a handy travel companion/valet.

Wow, and I thought my trip to Boston was posh. Well, we can hardly blame you. Given that we surreptitiously made copies of the keys, we'll probably just stick with our original plans. Your apartment would be more fun with you there, but I'm sure there's going to be a lot less consternation on your parts if you're not there when we go through your drawers and whatnot.

Help yourself -- you know where we keep the good whisky.

Careful with that whatnot, though. It bites.

Hey Babe,

I wish I had your camera when I was out fishing with my dad, son, and nephew last weekend for opener. We were on Peltier, and there were 2 Eagles perched on top of a tree on the East side of the lake. It was nice to see them the first time around the lake. When we came back the owners of the house was out doing yard work, so the Eagles were gone. I also saw one flying around the soccer field my girls were practicing at on Tuesday. I could get you some good Hawk shots from the windows at work.

Keep looking for the little ones.

Lance
