I'm trying to work on homework and Gabriel decided that he wanted to type too.
The following is a message from the Cranky Old Man (line breaks inserted by me because I care more about not breaking your friends page than he does!)

And the little snot keeps holding down the brightness key so that the screen goes dark.

Stoopid cat!

*edit*

And now Lump felt the need to put in her $0.02 worth:

What is it about cats and keyboards???? Mine always tries to jump directly onto the keys. She often gets some function key pushed and it does odd things. She's never been allowed to sit on my keyboard and yet she keeps trying.

And here I thought *I* was the only one with cats who like to type. Loki is the worst! And he always manages to hit the zoom button on my keyboard and either shrinks it to nothingness or enlarges it so much it only shows about 2 letters. He's such a pest.

Oh and by the way, in your last post about Gabriel, you could have just substituted the pic of Gabe for a pic of Loki. (Except he's the skinny mini of our herd - he's only about 9 lbs compared to Odin who is almost 25lbs)

Usually Gabe likes to lay on top of my arms. Cat logic: If she's not using them to pet *me*, she must not need them!
But since I was doing my Spanish workbook and had the computer in front of that for when I needed dictionary lookup he decided that he wanted to lay ON the computer. Besides the typing and making the screen dark a few times he also spent a while tabbing through my entire friends page!

Is Odin a Maine Coon? Or just "big boned"?
Gabester is about 15-17 lbs and Lump is about 8-9 lbs. But she thinks she's the size of a tiger!

I only know one person who has cats who hasn't told me they like keyboards. My friend's cats lie on the actual keyboard and won't move. Mine at least has the sense to stay moved when I put her off it.

Yeah ours climb on any chance they get. Mostly they hit the touchpad area, but sometimes they get keys.

Actually, Odin is a pure bred RagaMuffin (cousin to the Ragdoll). He's supposed to be around 20 lbs or so and he is very large boned but he's quite chubbed out too. We call him Odin the Hutt. Problem is that he has food allergies, so we can't put him on many of those lower cal diet foods because he just becomes a big loose poo machine (see this post on what is now family lore for more info. We do have one of those automated feeders that doles out the food in small increments 4 times a day so the other cats can get some. If we didn't have that machine, he'd probably be 30lbs and the other cats would get no food. Odin is a pig! He's also the alpha cat so he eats first.

3 of the cats are larger boned naturally, but Loki looks tiny next to them because he's sorta normal cat sized - he fluctuates seasonally between about 7.5 lbs to 9 lbs. Crickett has lost weight (she used to be "The Waddling Ottoman") and now weighs around 15 lbs, Scooter was big too but he looks more sleek just with the flubby fixed-boy belly and he weighs about 16-17 lbs. With Odin, you really do need to bend your knees when you pick him up! But thankfully, he also has gigantic feet so when he walks on you, it's more like snow shoes and the weight is spread out rather than poking through you to rupture your internal organs. He only bruises them!

Here's a shot of Odin from about a year and a half ago. He's plumped up a wee bit more since then:

By the way, he's not quite as fat as he appears. He really is very fluffy too. We do the "poke test" where you poke your index finger straight into his fur and measure how deep you get before you touch the actual body. His fur is so long and plush that it sticks straight out and your finger goes in past the middle knuckle before you get to actual Odin. He's still a chubbo, but just not quite as much of a chubbo as he appears to be. LOL

Ya, I know, it's an attention thing...they figure if they can cover what it is that's taking your attention away from them that you'll then lavish them with affection. So I was just being facetious.

But I will tell you, Loki has always been bad! When he was a kitten, in order to get anything done on the computer, I used to tie a big t-shirt fabric sheet around me like a sling and put him in it like a baby so he'd chill out and quit messing up what I was doing. He's not one of those cats you can just pick up and toss out into the hall. He's persistent! The little poo!

What is it with cats and the brightness key? Mine did the same this weekend. Leia also tried to rename the hard drive.

Thanks! I've actually been using that Firefly mood theme since before the Serenity movie was even announced. Hubby and I were among the dozen or so people who actually watched every episode of Firefly when it was originally broadcast!

Don't be silly. Boys don't knit! :)
I've knit a few Jayne hats. The latest one was sent to a friend in England. His 7 year old son promptly claimed it as his own!
