My ex-husband is a home-brewer and I have to say, I didn't think I liked beer either until I tried one that was rich and dark and you could taste all the nummy ingredients. Drinking decent home-brew really ruins you for any ordinary beer. Oh sure, I can drink a cold Grain Belt Premium with lots of lemon on a hot summer day... but not because it's anything like actual beer.

By the way, my ex was brewing "coffee beer" long before anyone else I knew had ever heard of it. He did it because beer made me sleepy, so he thought he'd add coffee to help me stay awake. It seemed to work, and it was delicious.
