I think there are only 2 or 3 people on my flist who know what 'skua' is...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skua
From wikipedia:
"Skua" is also a slang term at American Antarctic research stations such as the McMurdo Station or the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. It is named for the bird, and it means to salvage or scavenge for equipment or gear.

Today is spring cleaning at work and there is a common area where people bring things that still work or are in good shape that they don't want or need anymore. As people bring stuff other people scavenge through it. I've gotten some cool books and some discs of stock photos. Hard to concentrate on work now, wondering what good stuff has been brought in now...

I miss that. Two jobs ago I worked at a place where I could pass on all my old magazines when I was done with them. I couldn't do that on my last job because some of my reading material was a bit risque for a Christian ministry :-). Now I just throw away my magazines after I've read them, which is a shame. I don't feel like I've gotten my money's worth unless at least two people have read each issue.

Oh Ooooh! *raises hand*
I knew what a skua was! Heee! You can blame the movie "Happy Feet" because Mumble almost gets eaten by one.
