There were a ton of Red Admirals fluttering around and hanging out on the lilacs today:

There were a couple cardinals and a blue jay, but mostly it was sparrows flitting around while I was out there.
Here are a couple pictures of some White-throated Sparrows:

and a House Sparrow:

Thanks! Although there was a bit too much relaxing and not enough writing of the paper due Wednesday... doh!

Sure, I'll adopt you! But I expect you to get a job to keep me in the style to which I want to be accustomed!
LOL!
These pictures were actually taken right in my back yard.

Yay! Now if I could just get BirdChick to move to LJ... hee hee!
The thing I like most about LJ versus other blogging systems is that you can do threaded comments. That way if someone replies to your comment you can find out via comment notification instead of having to go back and scroll through just one long list to see if anyone replied or not. I'm a comment whore...I like to know when someone responds to me!
The White-throated Sparrow was a new one for my list! That's the nice thing about birding being a new hobby for me - even common backyard birds are new!

Wellll... I'm probably not going to switch though. But at least I can comment on yours with an id. I just snapped some pix of a white-crowned sparrow! I've had them in my yard before but only briefly in the spring.
