I had an hour to kill between work and my platelet donation appointment so I ran over to the Wood Lake Nature Center again to see the owl. The momma owl was at the nest hanging out with her baby. Here are a couple of the pictures I got:

Cooo-ul!! Those are some amazing pix! I especially like the wing-flapping ones. You donate platelets? Hooray for you! I work in the blood bank at North Memorial- maybe I've transfused your platelets to someone! We transfuse a lot of platelets and without a boubt they make a tremendous difference in the health and recovery of sick folks. KUDOS to you!!

LOL! Yeah, I figured that out from the North Memorial mention. :)
When you are transfusing B+ platelets there is a chance they are mine! I don't understand why more people don't do it. You get to watch a movie for a couple hours while people make sure you're comfortable. Not a tough price to pay to save lives!
If you haven't made it down to see the baby owl you really should! He's so cute and he's gonna be flying soon!
