The Guthrie
Feb. 22nd, 2007 12:32 amIt's been a long couple of days.
Last night was The Glass Menagerie at the Guthrie. It was fabulous! Randy Harrison & Harriet Harris were both just phenomenal.
If you are anywhere near the Cites and want to see a good play I heartily recommend this one.
And last night was also the first time I'd seen the new Guthrie Theater building. It is gorgeous!
The decaffeinated life has me getting tired earlier and it hits rather sudden so I'm gonna hit the sack and update more tomorrow. G'nigt everyone

Date: 2007-02-24 08:56 pm (UTC)Do you mind if I ask what row you were in? I have Rows J and K and I was just wondering what the view is going to be like. Thanks again.

Date: 2007-02-24 09:55 pm (UTC)Who is this, btw?
I was in the front row and the view was good. :)
Randy was mostly in the center and on the right side (when looking at the stage. Would that be stage left?)

Date: 2007-02-25 12:31 am (UTC)Did you happen to see Randy either before or after the play? Since I'm coming a pretty long way, I was hoping to see him outside the theatre. But if not, just seeing him peform on stage will be worth the trip :)

Date: 2007-02-25 01:21 am (UTC)I did not get to see him before or after, unfortunately. I did however get a program signed by him. I had sent an email on the Guthrie's site asking about waiting at the doors for autographs and I got this response from Cindy Berg, the company manager:
Thank you for your email to our Webmaster. I would not recommend trying to wait at the stage door entrance/exit for any of the Actors as there are many ways to exit the building and often the Actors stay long after the performance is over. Typically we do not facilitate requests for autographs because as you might expect we get thousands of requests and it would be difficult to please everyone. Randy however was kind enough to sign some programs for us as he frequently gets requests and wants to accommodate the public as much as he can. So I will leave a signed program at the box office with your name on it. Please pick it up before the show as the box office closes after intermission.
I'd definitely send an email to them asking for one and letting them know you're coming from NYC.
Are you visiting friends too, or just coming for the show?
