mcpenguin is a firefighter working down in Antarctica. He's usually at McMurdo Station but he got to go to the actual South Pole earlier this week and he'll be there for a month. He actually arrived there on the 95th anniversary, to the day, of the first human's (Roald Amundson) arrival at the pole. He'll be down there on the solstice and Christmas. How fucking cool is that?

And there is an actual pole at the South Pole. He kindly agreed to let me steal his picture to make an icon! Yay!

Well that, and the boy shows no interest in ever going to Antarctica. After I started reading Andre's journal I tried convincing Rick that we should apply for jobs there.

I have lost faith in my friend's list. The South Pole generates more comments than hawt monkey sex... :(
