The bird feeder is hopping today!
Non-stop buffet.
I'm even getting white-breasted nuthatches, which is new. And I think some house finches, in addition to the usual black-capped chickadees and "brown birds" aka sparrows.
Lumpy actually noticed the birds today too. She ran in and hopped up on her perch and she even stood up a few times to pat futilely at the glass.

Date: 2006-10-15 07:48 pm (UTC)I will put in another feeder this winter for sure. Of course, right now it's still 72, so I'm thinking they're not starving :)
And shame on me, I just realized I have no bird icons. That's just wrong.

Date: 2006-10-15 08:18 pm (UTC)One big myth with birds & birdfeeders is that once you put it out there you have to keep feeding them because they will starve without it. Truth: birds don't get more than 10% of their food from any one source, so if you stop filin one, you won't be starving any birds.
If you want to borrow some bird photos for an icon, you can use some of mine. They are here: http://www.dreamflyte.com/gallery/work
