Is comment notification being a bitch for anyone else today, or just me???

anonymous_greg is obviously smarter than me because he immediately provided me with a link to the problem. It's a beta of new comment notifications that is using permanent accounts as the guinea pigs.
This also explains the little pushpin buttons for tracking entries, threads, etc that appeared in my journal but I hadn't seen anyone on my flist talking about them. Perfect for when you comment in someone elses journal and someone responds to you (which you get an email about) and then someone else responds to them (which you don't get an email about.) I think I need to find me some threads to follow to test this puppy out.


Just curious, how many of you out there on my flist are permanent accounts?

Special note for permanent account holders who are testing out the notifications system: If you have the "Email" option enabled for "All comments in my journal, on any post.", you won't get the old comment notification email anymore for entries you post in communities or replies to comments you post, but you should get notifications for replies in your own journal. Until the fix for this is live on the site, you might just want to uncheck the "Email" option for that subscription.

If you're not getting email notifications, uncheck the notify me by email box? LOL! Weird thing is it works, because it then puts you back on the old system...

I agonized over buying a permanent account when they were available and I let my brokeness and the questionable advice of a friend talk me out of it. I tell myself that I will not miss the opportunity again if it comes up. But with inflation it will probably be an amount that seems as impossible to me as whatever the last amount did.
Still, now I have the benefit of hindsight, and knowing how disappointed I am that I didn't take advantage, so maybe I'll bite the bullet whenever the chance arises.
