[livejournal.com profile] hellbob & I are home from todays holiday festivities.
We started out the day stopping at [livejournal.com profile] genevra & [livejournal.com profile] akdar's house to help them with the twins while they were busy suffering from food poisoning. After feeding the Monkeys & getting them up to their room for naps we left [livejournal.com profile] genevra & [livejournal.com profile] akdar to lay around being miserable.
Then we headed to the KalHouse to trade gifts with [livejournal.com profile] kaldeth, [livejournal.com profile] kalfoley, girl-child and boy-child. I got another Killer Bunnies expansion set! Yay! Also, [livejournal.com profile] hellbob had the package with my gift sent to their house so that I wouldn't accidentally open it. He found me a copy of the soundtrack to the movie "Legend!" I used to have a copy of it on cassette many many years ago (with Queen's "A Kind Of Magic" on the other side) but never actually owned it, but now I can listen to it again!
Then we headed to Rick's sister's house. We had porketta for dinner and the kids opened their presents. I made his sister cry when she opened one of the boxes from me... It had copies of her wedding pictures, and also pictures from the hospital from both when H was born and when D was born. We got a cool wine bottle decoration with lights in it, and some candles, and some ham, and a cookie jar, and some cookies. We ate porketta for dinner. [livejournal.com profile] hellbob & I also both got roped into doing computer tech support. Although I think [livejournal.com profile] genevra would have been more help than me, because I was helping J figure out how to use the Canon photo software, ZoomBrowser, and I haven't used it for a couple years. Ugh. It was another one of those laptops with the silly extra button under the touchpad.
We had porketta for dinner. Mmmmmm.
And now we're home and I'm going to bed. I feel like crap! Friday I was snuffly. Yesterday it had already moved down into my chest. Today I am coughing up lungs, but even worse than that is the achyness. I just have a dull ache EVERYWHERE! It almost feels like something is touching me just inside my skin. It just a weird feeling. It's not really pain, but it's definitely uncomfortable.
Ugh. Really hope I'm feeling better tomorrow. Or at least not any worse!

Thank you thank you thank you for your help with the kids yesterday. We no longer feel like we're about to die, and akdar is currently playing with the kids. Ugh. Food poisoning sucks donkey dung!

Glad you had a good day!

Was this in addition to whatever you were sick with? What poisoned you?

Yeah, this was in addition to my cold. We're not sure what poisoned us, since *nobody* else got sick. I'm thinking it was something for dinner at my mother-in-law's house. At least we're feeling much much better today.

Though I am quite the die-hard fan, I would blame the shrimp over anything else. Seafood is an easy suspect in any food-poisoning situation.

Well now, it seems that the culprit was actually something at shrique's house wednesday night. He and N got it, as did E. And it turns out that food poisoning can have a longer incubation period, which I didn't know. Now to just figure out what it was...

Wow, that's odd. I'd always heard that it was one of the fastest because e.coli grows so freakin' fast. Did you ever figure it out? I can't think of anything at his house you had that we didn't.

Different kinds of food poisoning hit you at different speeds. Salmonella actually has a shorter incubation period than e. coli, according to http://www.medic8.com/healthguide/articles/foodpoisoningoverview.html

I put hand mouse on my machine with the usb, and I have to disable the touch pad - however I gotta manually disable it all the time cause I don't know how to add it into the boot on this machine, so I sometimes lose what I type cause I brush the touch pad all the time!

I really do like the powerbooks, though - I was with a friend when he got his new one (the newest model they released a few months ago) - and it was really nice. I may end up getting one someday.

I need one of those big boards you got for having that on your lap - did you get that at a craft store like michaels? I think it would help Evan when he uses his laptop - and me cause mine is on the coffee table.

You should be able to find one in an art store. They're a pretty standard requirement for Drawing I classes in college. I got mine about 100 years ago in Fargo.
