Because I haven't spammed all of you enough with pictures of the babies, here's one from Wednesday's expedition to the Dayton's Holiday Exhibit. That's my daddy holding the TechnoMonkey and the GiggleMonkey. It appears that GiggleMonkey may have inherited [livejournal.com profile] genevra's superpower of blinking at the moment of the picture.

And just cuz snow is pretty, here is one of the pond and ducks at work:

I like all the winter duckies! The black and white setting makes a good picture.

LOL! It's actually a color picture. There's just nothing colorful in it! :)

Love the duck photo. Nice subject contrast between the cuddly ducks and the frosty trees.

The lighting works perfectly with the subject. If the day had been brighter and the snow more contrasty it would have made it too stark to get the quiet, peaceful effect you acheived.

You might have included one curved end of the pond to show that it was a pond. My first impression was that it was a stream. Is the pond that narrow or is it just the camera angle?

It's a pretty small man-made pond. The snow the ducks are sitting on is actually on top of the part of the pond that was frozen. Also, with the angle it was shot at I was trying not to get the ugly building that's behind it. That is why there is no sky. :)

It was probably the camera's flash. Silly baby blinking when a big, bright blaze of brilliance blinds him/her... :)
