House fire update, of sorts

Thank you all so much for the kind words and offers of help.
hellbob's bosses have told him to take as much time as he needs to help his sister, so he will be heading out to her place soon. I'm stuck here at work with my eyes spontaneously leaking as I get each new offer of help & sympathy.
Some people have asked about the kids.
The daughter is 6 1/2 years old, and the son is 4 1/2.
We have no idea what their clothing sizes are (we don't have kids yet, we can't estimate those kinds of things!) but I have told Rick to get the clothing sizes for the whole family while he is there, and also to find out anything else he thinks they'll need right away.
I can't believe how many of you have offered to help, especially those who have never even met us in real life (and especially those who live on another continent).
As we know more of what they need I'll update, but for now we're just counting our blessings that they are safe and unharmed. Stuff can be replaced, they can't.

I'm just getting caught up and I wanted to say how sorry I am! That's a horrible thing to have happen and any help that you think they might need, you just let me know :D

I'm sure that what would really help them is if James were to fly to Minnesota to comfort me. ;)

I don't know what their insurance situation is like, but if it looks as if they need funds to keep them afloat for the moment, perhaps we could contribute something via PayPal?

I'm pretty sure that won't be needed because D's parents have money. Even though they can be pretty evil at times, I'm guessing that in a situation like this they will come through. But that is a really good idea and if it is needed I'll put a post about it.

Did they have pets? Do their pets need supplies?

Plus, I'm pretty sure we could dig up some extra furniture, if need be. Post that supply list as soon as you get it.

Nope, no pets. Julie is the one who was so allergic to cats that we'd sit outside when she visited. They'd talked about getting a dog a few times but never had.
Furniture isn't really an issue yet, since if they stay at Rick's dad's it's furnished.
This being at work and not able to do anything sucks!
