Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one.
If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one.
If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one.
If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em.
List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.

Since I'm maxed out on interests I've got a few here:

80s music - I graduated in 1988. 80's music was my music! :) Duran Duran, Michael Jackson (back when he was black & talented & didn't molest boys), Wham!, Poison...
Astro City - I'm a comic book geek. I met my husband in a comic book store. I used to own one. Astro City is written by Kurt Busiek & it's really good.
Calvin and Hobbes - Calvin & Hobbes, Bloom County, and the Far Side. All classics. Funny & smart & *sniff* gone...
CONvergence - The annual Gathering of the Geeks that I go to. A sci-fi convention here in Minneapolis Fourth of July weekend.
dreaming - Who doesn't like to dream? I don't remember my dreams very often, but sometimes when I do they are about something that just makes me happy.
Firefly - The show that Fox wouldn't let live, but the fans wouldn't let die. Joss Whedon. Those two words should be enough to make anyone watch it. The movie, Serenity, opens September 30th. Go!
Highlander - Saw the original movie on video in high school. I've seen it dozens of times since, including once on an actual movie screen! Also loved the TV show, which I see as being an alternate universe rather than a sequel to the movie. Because there were no sequels. No! None!
Kid Rock - Damn. This is the part where I have to admit to my love of the Detroit White Trash Rock. No explanations. I just really like listening to Kid Rock & Uncle Kracker. I've seen Kracker in concert twice. I touched him. I drove two hours by myself to see him. OK. Stop laughing. Do not mock me!
Martin Zellar - Lead singer of the dearly departed Gear Daddies. Love his singing, love his dimples. He's on my list.
Mutant Enemy - Joss Whedon's production company. Grr. Arg.
photography - You've met me, right? I really need to explain this one? So, how did it start? Other than those horrible 110 cameras as a kid I never really used a real one until the summer before my senior year of high school. I was going to ZooSchool at the Minnesota Zoo that summer studying animal behavior and we had to take pictures of the animals we were studying for our slide presentation at the end. I was able to borrow one of the zoo's cameras and so I took pictures of a bunch of the other animals too, not just the foxes. I loved the way the pics from a 35mm looked compared to the 110 crap I had always taken. Then senior year I took the schools photography class which was B & W darkroom. For my big graduation present I insisted that I wanted a real camera. Mom & dad thought a typewriter would be more useful for college, but I insisted. And that's how it started...
Ritalin - the magic pills. I have ADD and it helps me focus.
Spike - Ok. If you've seen pictures of the man, I really don't need to explain! LOL! I am a fangirl. I love my vampires!
Traveling - I want to go everywhere and see everything. My dream vacations are a tour of Europe and an African safari (with camera, of course!)
Virginia Hey - I'm also a total fangirl for Farscape. Virginia played Zhaan, the blue chick. She was a guest at ValleyCon, which we went to. Sweetest lady ever! :)

What a fun idea hellziggy!! Ok, here goes:

Belle & Sebastian -
A brilliant alternative band from Glasgow. They got their name from a French children's book that was made into a TV series in the 60's. The music is amazing. Intelligent lyrics and great tunes.

Chocolate -
Reasons for being a big girl #1.

Donnie Munro -
Former lead singer of the Gaelic rock group, Runrig. Left the group to pursue a socialist political career but that didn't really work and now back to solo performing. Sings in Gaelic and English. Has a voice that could melt the coldest of hearts.

Football -
The real football that North Americans call soccer. 22 men in shorts running about a large park, what can be wrong with that? Oh, the thighs!!

Ian Rankin -
The best mystery writer Scotland has produced for a long time, if not ever. His main character John Rebus is a hard drinking, down to earth kind of guy. And Ian Rankin is very cute. I met him last year.

Learning Gaelic -
I was introduced to the Toronto Gaelic Learners Association by my friend Maggie when I thought there were no Scottish people in Toronto. I had to travel 3,000 miles to learn my own language. The language is dying and we are trying to keep it alive.

Oasis -
What more can be said about this British band. I loved them from the first CD and although some of their stuff over the years has been really bad, there is still something about them that I love. They are bad boys and I like my bad boys!!.

Reading Sci-Fi -
I'll include fantasy in here as well. From H. G. Wells to Tolkien to Isaac Asimov to J. K. Rowling. What would life be if all we had to read was as boring as everyday life?

Serenity -
So glad this one came up. The brilliant new movie from Joss Whedon. It has everything you would want in a movie. It comes out in 19 days but I've seen it so I know what I'm talking about. Action, comedy and pretty men. Adam Baldwin *sigh*

I would have put this behind a cut but haven't worked out how to do that yet.

Have you read any of Busiek's other books?

I picked up a copy of his Conan comic compilation and really enjoyed his take on the character.

There really isn't much original material by Robert E. Howard and the stuff written by other authors is just so flat and lifeless that I find it unreadable. Busiek's Conan isn't an exact fit with the original, but he understands the savage volcanic energy that I find makes the character so compelling.

There are subtle touches in the comic, like the typewriten font that appears in the caption boxes. Most might think that a fantasy flavored font would be more appropriate for the story, but for those who know the story's background it shows Busiek has a real depth of understanding of Conan's literary origins.

The typewriter font represents Howard sitting in his Texas home tapping out the story of Conan adventures. It's important to realize that REH had a deep conection with his most famous character. He described the act of writing Conan as actually remembering the events of the barbarian's life rather than just making them up. Howard was a strong believer in past lives and felt that the stories he cranked out were in a real sense autobiographical.

By using the typewriting font, Busiek is reminding us of Howard's unseen but strongly felt presence in each of the stories. It is both a tribute to the orginal author and a signal to Conan's fans that Busiek has done his homework.
