Of course I will regale you with stories of typographic goodness! But since it was the first class it didn't get much more interesting than "This is a serif font, this is a sans-serif font, this part of the letter is the stem, this part is the ear, etc" One cool fact was that serif fonts are easier to read in printing which is why books & newspapers generally use it (I knew this) but that sans-serif are easier to read on the computer (I didn't know this, but thinking about it I realised that I subconsciously did it already)
