I think it'd be a great thing to do - after all, you have two little people who will be fascinated to learn all about aunty hellziggy when they're older.
I wish that some of my relatives had done this. I'd love to know more about them when they were younger. What they did, what they thought, how they met and so on.
And you have a great writing style! Hush about the 'not a writer' stuff already.
oh, and you need a passport to come to the UK. Just sayin' :-)
