Hello. Vampire. I'm supposed to be treading on the dark side. What's your excuse?

Don't you just hate it when the phone rings at 1:45 am?
There's only one good reason for that, and that is the iminant arrival of my niece & nephew, Spike & Willow.
A God-damned FAX is NOT a good reason!!! Grr. Arg.

I got a call on my damn cell phone at like 1:45 as well. Pissed me off. I've gotten a few of those and it's usually some arab guy babbling at me until I tell him he got a wrong number.

Annoying phones...

We have an ongoing battle with fax machines and telemarketers. The biggest help was putting an "anon call-block" on our phone. Anybody that the number doesn't show up hears the phone company's automated thing asking who they are... then my phone rings, and I hear what they said, and I get to choose if I answer it or not. Also, with the caller-id, we can see who it is, and I can generally tell if it's a telemarketer and we just don't answer those. Once in a while it seems like something legit and isn't, and then I'm just rude to them.

For a couple of days, I was getting fax machine calls on my cell phone- starting at 5:30 in the morning. Even vampires are asleep then! It'd call in groups of three, wait a couple hours, call again 3 times, and a third cycle. It didn't go more than that (and never will), because the threshold for legal action is 10 calls in 24 hours.

One telemarketer was astonished when I asked to be put on the "do not call" list. She said, You realize we won't call you any more, right? Um, yeah, that's sort of the idea! Why would I possibly want them to call me? Nobody wants those calls! I don't know how people actually work those jobs. The only people who would talk to you are the really lonely people who don't have any friends, and they don't buy what you're selling....

Stupid marketing people. Sorry you got one of "those" calls.

**hugs**

We usually just don't answer it if it comes up "unknown name" or some such thing. Unfortunately this one said "private name" "private number" and I have a sister who could give birth at any moment so I had to answer it!
Less than 72 hours & I'll be on a west bound plane!
