Summer is over

Summer's over. The flowers in the garden are dead.

We got snow on Friday night, and the temps have been below freezing.

The fountain is still on outside [livejournal.com profile] romeoa's apartment building though.

I love the fact that 3 different people's reactions on seeing the cool ice formations was "We gotta let Sharon know." So yes, I hopped in the car and went to take pictures.

Wonderful photos, sweetie... I can't believe the cold and snow are already knocking at your door.

Beautiful! I like that first photo of the grasses heavy with ice best. Thanks for sharing these! :)

The fountain photo reminds me of the year the city of Chicago dyed the fountain at Daley Plaza green for St Patrick's Day. Except it was really cold that spring, and the spray froze to the railings, leaving a sea foam green rime coating everything. I wished I had brought a camera and taken a photo before they cleaned it all up.

So pretty. Once, when I was a kid, my parents left the garden sprinklers on and they froze. It was one of the most memorable days of my childhood.
