What a funny man! There were so many good comics during the late 70s and early 80s. I really should look into getting some of that classic footage...

First Hicks, then Carlin.

Damn.

Every generation has its comedy heroes. Unfortunately I've not found the new Hicks/Carlin. I can only hope that he or she is lurking in the wings somewhere, honing their rants.

George Carlin was such a wordsmith. The only other comic I can think of off-hand that has (actually had) a similar knack for using language inventively to make his point is Dennis Miller. Until he got all political, anyway. No, maybe Eddie Izzard too. He has the language knack too. Maybe that's why I like him so much. It's the insightfulness combined with fantastic wordsmithing. Very clever men. But neither as clever as Carlin.

I will seriously miss George Carlin. Probably my favorite comic of all time. I always watch his specials on HBO whenever they're on.

Been good. I've got CONvergence coming up this weekend. From Thurs afternoon at about 2:00 or so until sometime Sunday night I'll be at the Rad South Bloomington Sheraton for a weekend full of wonderful geekery!
And then in just over a month I've got my trip to Vegas!
You wanna come to Vegas with me? :) Hookers & blow & JoCo!
How's life at NAMG? Do you realize that yesterday was the one year anniversary of my emancipation?!!!

When exactly will you be in Vegas? I've actually never been there and have to go at least once!!!

NAMG is pretty much the same old crap.

I joined Anytime Fitness and have actually been going.......by myself even!!! O_0

I fly to Vegas at 7am on August 14th and fly home at 12:50am on August 17th.
Even though I'm technically flying home on Sunday, it's less than an hour after midnight so it's really more like late Saturday nite. I figured that since I'll have all day on both Thurs & Fri that leaving Sat nite would be ok. The Coverville 500 concert (with JoCo!!!) is on Friday the 15th.
I'm gonna hopefully get to meet Evo & Debbie, and I'll for sure get to meet Brian, and I'll get to hug JoCo again, and if she does decide to come up for it I'll get to meet Leann. I'm not sure which other of my podcast peeps will be there.
I still can't believe I'm going by myself to a city where the only person I've actually met is JoCo, Internet Superstar. :)
