I was pretty well done with school when I met you two last year. I was in the process of petitioning out of an introductory class at the time but that didn't work out. I ended up taking the actual class this Spring but the actual graduation ceremony wasn't until this last weekend.
About that, I wanted you two to know that we had a dinner afterwards for family and close friends and I dearly wanted to invite you. However, I didn't get my act together until about a week and half before. Given that that was too little time for you two to plan to come up, I didn't send you the invite.
I agonized over sending the invite to you, but in the end I figured it would be better for you not to know in case you felt bad about not making it, or worse, you actually did make it. (I would have felt ever so guilty about putting you through all that on such short notice.)
At any rate, I blame my laziness for not getting this organized sooner. We'll have to plan another trip soon so that I can apologize in person. =D
Sweetheart, this is definitely not something worth agonizing over. For one thing, Simon was working on Sunday and until Wednesday we were planning to help some friends pack their moving van on Saturday. (We ended up doing it at the last minute on Thursday night instead.) I appreciate your thinking of us, though. We would have loved to celebrate with you if it was possible.
We should definitely plan another get together soon.
