New Vosges flavor

Many of y'all have heard my chocolate/cheese theory of food before.
Basically, my theory is that almost every food can be improved by adding either chocolate or cheese.
Because of this theory it was determined that bacon is a perfect food because it is yummy and doesn't need chocolate or cheese.
Vosges apparently didn't agree with this.

Their newest exotic candy bar:

Bacon & chocolate together! Kind of scary, but since it's Vosges I'm willing to try it...

Try putting some cheese on top of it.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh! :)

[identity profile] nextian-cutie.livejournal.com 2007-07-15 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Interesting!

I've had a couple of their exotic bars...the chipotle one wasn't all that great...just so-so but their curry one was actually quite yummy. I'd be interested to try this one too.

But I do agree with you...bacon is pretty much the perfect food all on its own (as long as it's cooked long enough to be crispy without being burned!)

My favorite Vosges so far has been the Barcelona Bar. That's the one w/the sea salt and almonds. Mmmmmmm

[identity profile] nextian-cutie.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh yum! I may have to try that! Love almonds but I think the sea salt would be neat. Salt always brings out the sweet.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It is the *perfect* PMS snack! :)

[identity profile] scubagrrl.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to work with a lady whose migraine or PMS snack was anything that combined salt and chocolate. :)

[identity profile] kniblet.livejournal.com 2007-07-15 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, this is a good'un.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Curse you and your easy access to Vosges! :)

[identity profile] kniblet.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

[identity profile] dibsy.livejournal.com 2007-07-15 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It's phenomenally good, but then it is Vosges. I'll pretty much believe any flavour combinations they come up with now, and they seem to have perfected that whole sweet/savoury thing.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
The supermarket here that carries Vosges only carries 3 or 4 flavors, so I'm guessing they won't get this one.. I am looking forward to trying it though.

[identity profile] kniblet.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, we still have [livejournal.com profile] hellbob's memory stick. We could try to remember to send that back and pop in a bacon bar as well.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh. That's a tempting offer! :)

[identity profile] snowcalla.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
What I like best...is that you have tags for "bacon" and "chocolate".

I love you!

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I've only just made those tags though so this is the only entry for both.
Of course, I also have tags for zombies and for goat-fucking...

This is the third time this candy bar has come up lately. First, it shows up on the Disney geek message board in a thread titled "bacon is meat candy". Second, a LJ friend went to Vegas and bought one to try it. She said it wasn't bad.

And now you bring it up. :) I'm not sure if this is cool or worrisome.

Though I do agree with your chocolate and cheese theory. :)

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I never actually made it to the Vosges store when I was in Vegas. This is probably good because it is a dangerous dangerous place!

[identity profile] freyjakj.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
Whoa. Do share how it is.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
If I can get my hands on one I will.
It is, however, Nibley approved!

[identity profile] kniblet.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yummy! :)

But salty. :(

[identity profile] freyjakj.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
A little salt for moi would probably be okay - I'll have to share with P is all. ^_^

[livejournal.com profile] hellziggy you can order online, too. ^_^

I once had this one http://www.vosgeschocolate.com/product/black_pearl_exotic_candy_bar/exotic_candy_barswhich I dipped in a Whole Foods cheese spread. Mmmmm....

i'm curious and a tad bit wigged at the same time.
let me know what you think of it.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
If I get a hold of one I'll let you know how it was. (We don't have a Vosges store here in Mpls.)

[identity profile] lucky13charm.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That is definitely a must try chocolate bar!

[identity profile] pixiegirl131415.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Ewww! For me that ranks right down there with the fried candy bars at the state fair... just thinking about it clogs my arteries! *shudders*

[identity profile] scubagrrl.livejournal.com 2007-07-16 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
My coworker (fat-kid, by his own admission, and lover of all things fried) tried the snickers at one of the fairs.

Never again. He says it was awful. He didn't even bother trying the deep-friend twinkie. I think the oreos were pretty bad, too.
