A multitude of Sharons

Well, OK, there were just two Sharons. But we are a rare creature, not too many of us under the age of 50.
This afternoon [livejournal.com profile] lucky13charm and I went to Birdchick's owl presentation at The Raptor Center and got to see lots of really cool owls.
Then afterwards we went out to the Mpls-St. Paul Int'l Airport with Sharon and a couple of her friends and tried to find a Snowy Owl.
Her friend spotted the owl up on top of a tower. We couldn't get real close because it was the airport so everything is fenced off, but I took a couple pictures anyway.

Who would have thought that one of the best places to see Snowy Owls would be the airport? :)

My sister used to volunteer for the Raptor Center. She really loved it.

It's really cool. I just don't know how I would find the time while I'm still in school. It was definitely an enjoyable way to spend the day!

In our discussion of chavs, I never did get around to telling you about Sharon being the classic "Kugel" name in South Africa.

Kugel is literally a kind of Jewish sweet noodle pudding, but in this context it is the South African equivalent of the Jewish Princess.

I was telling the other Sharon about it being a chav name and she got a kick out of that.
Apparently the Brit in her life (Neil Gaiman) never filled her in on that little bit of info...

I'll say one thing for the Sharons -- you're not a dull lot.

And Sharons under 50 who aren't evil robots bent on destroying humanity are an even rarer thing.

At least... I don't think you're an evil robot bent on destroying humanity. Are yo?

Nope. I am definitely not a robot!
