Guess what!? More birds!

[livejournal.com profile] mle292 mentioned earlier that we should all post more pictures, but I'm pretty sure she didn't mean for me to post more bird pictures...

Anyway, today I saw a great big ol' pileated woodpecker! These are the ones that are like a foot and a half tall.

Actually, I saw two of them, but didn't get a non-blurry picture with both.

We use to have those at our house.. I thought they were nearly extinct?

You might be thinking of ivory-billed woodpeckers for the nearly extinct part. They actually were thought to be extinct since the early 1900s until last year when someone claimed to have seen one.
