"The fifth dentist finally caved and now they ALL recommend Trident?"
OK. Home from the dentist now.
No cavities!
Gums are in good shape!
Very little tartar!
And it didn't hurt and they didn't use anything that tasted icky!
Now that I'm home and everything was ok with my teeth I can admit to y'all that it had been about five years since I'd been to the dentist. I was really surprised at how fast & painless the cleaning was. The hygienist admitted afterwards that she was pleasantly surprised at the state of my teeth after she saw that it had been so long since I'd been in. To which I replied that it meant I could wait another 5 years before coming in again, right? She said no. *sigh*
If only Gabriel's teeth cleaning was going to be as cheap as mine!

I hate the dentist too, so I feel your pain...ever since I had braces when I was 10(ish) my gums have not been great so I dread going, not so much for the pain but for the lectures ;)

I never had braces. I mostly don't like the poking around and when they use icky tasting stuff. I remember when I was a kid the made a big deal about things being bubble-gum flavored or some kind of fruity flavor. Ick!!! Mouth-cleaning things should be mint. Period. No room for negotiation!

I go every 6 months. I did that skip the dentist for years thing and it hurt when I did go. Going twice a year now, it doesn't hurt. I figure if it's cost-effective for the insurance to pay for it, it's good for me to pay for it. They give me a discount for being a cash patient.

Not one friggin' cavity, thank you very much.
I put it down to genetics and not drinking pop more than once a week or so.
