Today has been a good day and I'm in a really good mood!

After having to be at work at 7 frickin' am all week I got to sleep in until 7, because I didn't have to be there until 8!

I got to leave work at noon!

I actually met my productivity goal at work for the day! (This has been a rare thing of late because although I tell them what works best with my ADD they keep giving me the crap that I can't do fast enough and give the stuff I do well to someone who hates doing it & is sick of it...)

I have acquired most of my school books with the use of 20% off Borders coupons!

The UPS guy showed up and gave me a box with Adobe Creative Suite in it, so I now have it all legal & registered and stuff!

I'm in school! (yes, this is a good thing. I like going to class and I really wish I could be a full time student at this point in my life!)

I have a Lump cat on my lap!

[livejournal.com profile] hellbob & I are going to a wedding this weekend!

Since it is up north we will get to see his Grandma!

We will also be able to stock up on yummy porketta cheaper than we can get it down here!

[livejournal.com profile] hellbob was doing so well with his diabetes management that they moved him to the next kind of insulin!

I'm not at work right now! (oh, wait, I already said that one, didn't I?)

So now, everyone tell me something good about your day.

I'm in a much better mood than I have been the last few days. I've got lots of fun social stuff lined up for this weekend. It's almost the end of the work day on Friday!

I have an awesome boss who's willing to take what I feel are problems seriously and work with me on them :)

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2004-08-27 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Woo hoo! A good boss can make all the difference!

[identity profile] windelina.livejournal.com 2004-08-27 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I went and got my tabs and my new drivers license! Go me for not forgetting until it was too late.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2004-08-27 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay, go you! I renewed my driver's license last week. I'm sure the picture will suck though because I kept forgetting to go on good hair days and I finally just said "fuck it" since I had been expired for a little over a month!

It's Friday and I was done at noon.....oh wait, you already knew that? You didn't try to punch out again, did you?

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2004-08-27 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope! I was too busy sprinting for the parking lot!

[identity profile] lucky13charm.livejournal.com 2004-08-27 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
*chuckle* I'm not looking forward to being at Shakopee on Monday and Tuesday.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2004-08-27 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, after 2 days there you'll have to update us on the body count and let us know who.

[identity profile] lucky13charm.livejournal.com 2004-08-27 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I definitely will do that!

[identity profile] mle292.livejournal.com 2004-08-27 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I went to the library and got some books and a DVD! :)

[identity profile] mle292.livejournal.com 2004-08-28 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that's just a fascinating story! (not really)

A few years ago, someone gave me "Robbinsdale - A pictorial History 1893-1993" even though I didn't buy my house until 1995 (shhh! If anyone finds out, they might take the book away!). That book contains very brief explanations with the pictures. Even more detailed explanations are in Robbinsdale - Then and Now. It was just sitting on the shelf! I'm truly amazed that it wasn't reserved out for years to come.

I also got Salem's Lot by Stephen King, I read it once about twenty years ago and made an attempt to re-read it about a month ago and only got halfway through before I was distracted by other books. I shall persevere.
Aren't you glad you asked?

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2004-08-30 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if I ever read Salem's Lot or not... I don't think so. But I did recently watch the made for TV one with Rob Lowe (on TNT maybe?) and really enjoyed it.

So was there a Crystal - Then and Now on the shelf next to the Robbinsdale one?

[identity profile] mle292.livejournal.com 2004-08-30 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know but I will look when I return the book.
A lot of early Crystal information is in the Robbinsdale book, origionally Robbinsdale was part of "Crystal Township" which also even included the Camden neighborhood until the city of Minneapolis annexed it.

I went to the family party at Aunt Pat's with the babies, and as I was getting out of the van with them, I heard a cheer go up from in the house! Hehe... I think the aunts were happy to see my kids...

*warning - sappiness alert!*
I also discovered, after 8 hours of only bottle-feeding (easier when out and about), that I really truly do love nursing my children. There's something amazing about being able to give them complete nourishment *all by myself*. And the closeness. You always hear how mothers bond during feeding, and it sounds cliche. But there truly is a special connection there.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2004-08-30 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Was their not-favorite aunt there? How was the party?

[identity profile] genevra.livejournal.com 2004-08-30 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
No she wasn't. She and Paul didn't bother to check their e-mail and didn't realize that it was a friday night party.

Party wasn't bad. Kinda small compared to most of the family events. Mom even said she had a good time.

[identity profile] dakegra.livejournal.com 2004-08-28 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
good: I painted our bedroom. Finally. After 4 and a half *years* of living with it in a state.

bad: EddieBean is at Grandma's. And I miss him *this* much *arms held wide*

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2004-08-30 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, since you are done with that bedroom, I've got a bathroom that needs some work...

[identity profile] dakegra.livejournal.com 2004-08-30 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
cool. I'm getting into this DIY lark.

[identity profile] dakegra.livejournal.com 2004-08-28 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, and good: Went for yummy mexican food with K tonight. It rocked.

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2004-08-30 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmmm. Mexican! When you come to visit all your Minnesota friends *hint* we will take you to El Loro for some of the best mexican you've ever had!

It'll have to go a long way to beat Cactus Lounge...

All Good Things

[identity profile] scubagrrl.livejournal.com 2004-08-30 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Good things: my newly-tiled floor is grouted, and all we have to do is mop it a couple of times and then seal the grout.
I interviewed Thursday for a job that I want. Hoping I get it.
My pipes get replaced this week. Before anything breaks even... :)
Hounds are cute.
My kitchen floor is clean. Ok, that sounds trivial. But with that linoleum, you really have to work to get it clean. Or maybe I just don't do it often enough. But it is satisfyingly clean. For now.
I have a *pile* of new books to read!!! Three on Native American religious stuff, one on the Koran, Amy Tan's book "Bonesetter's Daughter", and something else.
And of course, that I live in paradise. :) The sun is gorgeous, it's not too hot today, and I had lunch at Sizzler.
**hugs**
