Mine!

I have a new lens: EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM

It came in to work used and I got a heck of a good price on it. Of course, it's still more than I ever thought I would spend on a lens so I'll be getting a second job after school ends so I can replace the money in the account. I have a lens as big as my head!

<--- Suffering from Lens Envy (if only it were the Nikon equivalent!)

Nice! Isn't it great to get a good deal on something like that!? Awesome that you've got the connection!

You'll have fun shooting birdies with that one! Nice and fast. Congrats!

DUDE!

I think we need to call NASA, the Hubble obviously lost a part.

LOL!

Congrats sweetie! Thanks a lot for coming over tonight, I love you and your hubby so much!

OBVIOUSLY I should not be allowed to post on drugs either. Logging in might help you to know who is making the smart ass comment. DUH!!

Look at that pretty white lens. Very nice. And damn near 12 pounds, a lot of very nice glass.

*wibble*

Ohhhh! It's pretty. At fist I thought it was a space capsule but a lens is just as cool

I'm not going to show my husband this post -- he will get lens envy. Me? I wouldn't know what to do with the thing. But you take wonderful photos!!!!

WOW! That is one gorgeous piece of equipment, girl! Nice score. :D

It was quite the deal. The last time any big Canon glass had come in used was a 300mm about 5 years ago (also bought by an employee!)

Hee hee! Silly drugged Becky!
It was good to see you last night! Remember to CALL if you need anything!

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, mine's not quite that white because it was used, but it is still very pretty! But yeah, definitely too heavy to be a "take with you everywhere" lens!

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
That was pretty much my thought when I saw it come in. Never dreamed I'd be getting it though!

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It's pretty much almost as big as a space capsule! LOL!

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I know all about the lens envy. I've had it over lenses like this for years! :)

[identity profile] hellziggy.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I'm just itching to go try it out!

[identity profile] beanbeans.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
This weekend, maybe? :)

[identity profile] nextian-cutie.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Ya, I miss working in a camera store sometimes. Well, actually, I really only miss the employee discounts and first dibs on cool used stuff that came in. Of course if camera shop were the only source of income, even the employee discount wouldn't help much on nifty items like that!

[identity profile] scubagrrl.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, my, what a big lens you have! Seriously, though, congratulations! :) You can probably photograph me from your house with that thing!

[identity profile] some-day-soling.livejournal.com 2008-04-18 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow! *is jealous* Congratulations!

That is big!

If you were a guy I'd say you were compensating for something

[identity profile] pafischer.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
HZ,

I really really want something that big with such great low light specs. I've got the 100-400 L Series zoom, but it's 4.5-5.6. F2.8 is awesome at 400mm. Take some great bird pics with it for me.

This was one of those "I'm never going to own that" lenses. I was shocked when it came in used, and even more shocked when I found out my price as an employee.

So if I were a guy I'd be compensating for something... and you are a guy... and you want this lens... LOL!

I'm glad someone gets my humor.

Besides, My lens is bigger.
