The good, the bad and the ugly

The good:
~Went out to Birdchick's "Birds & Beer" tonight.
~Met blog-stalker Fritz
~Sold one of my calendars without even trying
~Spanish class is fun!
~OMG I LOVED TORCHWOOD SO MUCH!!! There will be a squee filled reaction post soon (w/spoiler warning cut, of course.)

The bad:
~The external wireless card on my laptop may have gone kaput. I ran disk warrior, fixed permissions, etc and although the computer sees that the card is plugged in it doesn't do anything when I select "turn airport on." This may necessitate at trip to the Apple Genius Bar tomorrow.

The ugly:
~We switched from DirecTV to cable today. I haven't decided yet if I hate the interface or if I'm just not used to it.
~Because I haven't been online all day my flist is at about skip=100

Just out of curiosity, why did you switch from DirecTV to cable? We did the opposite a few years back, and haven't regretted it. Of course, we live in different areas so charges can be different, reception, etc.....

Are you Mac or PC? I have an extra D-Link AirPlus DWL-650+ network card lying around...but it's just for a PC, I think, but I could be wrong. Just photographed it to sell on Ebay since we don't need it. I haven't tested it, but it's been kept in a safe place for the last couple of years, so I don't see why it shouldn't work just fine.

They go for about $17 new at Amazon. I don't have the box or software for it, but you can download the driver online. I was planning on selling it for $8 plus shipping if you're interested...just let me know!

We've actually been very happy with our DirecTV/DirecTiVo combination. It was purely a financial decision. We had to switch our Comcast digital phone from the one we've had for years to a different Comcast digital phone service. I really don't know what the difference is. So when we were looking into that we found that doing a bundle of the three services would save us some money and boost our internet speed.
If we can't get used to the TiFaux interface on their system or if we just hate it we will be buying a new TiVo box and going that route again though.

We tried the TiFaux interface on the Comcast DVR and hated it. You don't need to have the Comcast DVR, do you?
