I have officially named my laptop

Her name is Chiana, because she is skinny & silver & pretty.



I've been working on loading all my CD's on her every time I've got her on, and I'm up to 2.5 days of music now! Haven't had much internet time though, because even though I can cruise the web from the couch I've actually been busy doing silly things like homework. Which I am off to do now...

edit: And the fact that the character Chiana is a thief has no relation to software acquisition...

I got my laptop for "work" but I've yet to do anything very productive on it. but it's great fun!

I've now had some goofing off time with it too, but mostly just organising folders & such. I put all my digital photos on from the backup disks I had made. I had to reorganise everything because iPhoto doesn't use the same folder system as Microsoft, and with over 2000 photos I figured I should organise them now or it would never get done!
As for naming computers, most people use their favorite geek thing. Chiana is a Farscape character. My friend [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] named hers Wes, after Wesley on Buffy/Angel. Mel, of course, has the TiBook of the Dead. Names that Rick has used for our computers here at home to network them are Hal & Skynet. One place he worked named all the servers after Star Trek planets: Klingon, Vulcan, Andoria, etc.

oooh, nice. Glad it finally arrived! When I left for my holiday it was still in transit. Did the ipod arrive too? Lucky lucky you...

(my home PC is called Hex, after the computer in Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. My laptop is called MiniHex...)

Good. Tiring, but good. There's a whole post about it somewhere. Think it might be friends-only as there are pics of Eddie in there, but you should be able to see it no probs.
