You know you are in a geek house when one spouse says to the other, "Why is there a Borg on the kitchen counter?"

The answer to [livejournal.com profile] hellbob's questions was, "Because when I was looking for the alarm clock for Becca I found him."

He's still there and hasn't assimilated anyone yet...

Well, I've achieved the goal of shooting at least one picture a day for the last 100 days.

Wow.

I honestly didn't expect to make it to 100 without having to restart at least once. When I tried to shoot daily last November I actually missed either two or three days. There were some days in the last 100 where i literally only took the one picture. There were also many days where I got more and couldn't decide on just one.

Whether or not I continue on with this is gonna be decided by if I take a picture today or not... I haven't been really inspired lately until going to the park yesterday, but if i do another 100 that will take me through most of the summer which would include things like a Mason Jennings concert, CONvergence, a weekend at my parent's cabin, a weekend at Rick's step-mom's cabin and my Trip To LA To Touch James Marsters Again.

I'm thinking I'll continue on with the goal of just seeing how far I get rather than a set number...

Day 100!!!

I actually made it! Yay me!

I stopped at the park on the way home and took a bunch of pictures. I wasn't sure which I liked best so when I showed them to [livejournal.com profile] hellbob I made him pick. So, my final picture is that thing I won't eat, but which looks cool...

a mushroom!

My second place runner up was this one, an evil Asian Lady Beetle:

And to finish with my new addiction, a bird picture. This is a Downy Woodpecker:

So, do I start at 100 again?
Or do I keep going and keep numbering with 101, 102, etc to see how far I get?
Or do I just take a break for a bit?

It's [livejournal.com profile] hellbob, plastic wrapped for freshness!

We were helping paint a friend's house and [livejournal.com profile] hellbob had to hold plastic over the garage door while the paint was being sprayed around it.

Hey [livejournal.com profile] hellbob! Guess what I did today!?!?

Had to get some more copies of the house key made...

Last week [livejournal.com profile] pattiponders said about one of my bird pics "I swear these birds pose for you!"
Today's pics are not going to convince her differently!

No, that's not been cropped in from the original! We were driving home and there was a bald eagle chowing down on some road kill right on the shoulder of the road. So I made [livejournal.com profile] hellbob turn the car around. He flew off as we got close but ended up landing in a tree right by the edge of the road so we pulled up slowly and I shot these pics from the window of the car.

This pic is cropped, but only on the sides to turn it from a horzontal to a vertical.

Birds eventually get tired of posing for me!

I am feeling lazy & haven't uploaded yesterday and today's 100pics yet. I'll do it tomorrow...

But, for those of you who want to see all the pics I've done for it, I've got them all tagged so you can click here to browse by my tag. I've cross posted some of them here in my journal, but not all of them.

And if you're tired of looking at my crap, there are a bunch of other talented folks over there posting stuff too.

Want to try a really good beer??

This isn't it!

We were at a beer party yesterday and the Pit Bull was the definite winner, er, um, loser in the category of worst beer.

Here's a second picture for you of some of the beer selection:

And we've got more birds...

I found a really great little park. It's right by a highway, but it still feels secluded and it's got lots of cool birds. In the short time I was there I saw a Green Heron, a Great Egret, a couple hawks (that I couldn't identify), a pair of Woodducks, and some Mallards.

I'd never seen one of these before... It's a Green Heron Butorides virescens

And egrets are always cool,
Great Egret, Ardea alba

Yep, it's yet another flower picture from me!
My first tulip has opened up.

Yesterday's picture of the pheasant?

Just ignore it.

It's crap.

Today's is waaaaaaaaaay better!

I would be more modest, but damn! Look at the detail in the feathers & such that I got today!

I think I've turned into a birdwatcher... Every time I see a new one I haven't photographed my first thought is to grab the camera...

A Ring-Necked Pheasant

Here's the same pic zoomed in:

On the day of the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything, I present to you the Gabriel cat. He is feeling much better after being sick last week. The pukage has stopped. He is acting his normal self. He's even eating a little, just not as much as before.

While I was taking a picture of a goose, a Great Blue Heron flew overhead. Luckily I already had my camera w/telephoto lens in hand!
